Game is on ESPN right now. We need our OoC competitors to knock off big teams to help our RPI, and right now Temple is leading nearing the half.
Temple is blowing out Tennessee. Good win for the owls.
Temple 88
#8 Tennessee 72 F
Win the win our RPI moved up to 37th.
Sweeeeet!!!!
Enjoy it while it lasts, because as soon as the A-Sun opponents start coming in, that RPI will fall.
And how!
ETSU is now #24 after the App State win.
You do realize you're kidding yourself with that RPI rating, don't you?
Would you rather ETSU be #225 Pitt? Would that make you happy?
I'm sure glad that Christmas didn't play like that against us.
Well, he pretty much did; maybe not *quite* as hot.

JC Press following the ETSU/Temple game:
Quote:Christmas finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, and he went 5 of 10 from 3-point range. Most were deep threes.

“He’s good, and we knew that coming in,” said Bartow. “Everything we did defensively was geared to him. We were trying to hold him to 16 or less, and he busted out for 26.”

I think know of at least 3 on this board that are not happy with ETSU winning and having success.

Yes he would, that way he and Kev can brag about how much better the great Socon Gods are. They don't know what to think when we dominate a team, from the greatest conference in the land, on their on home court.

That time again I see

This really is great. Look at the current or former SoCon members go down. First Marshall, then App. Take out Chattanooga on Wednesday and its a clean sweep. It will be sweet.

Let the naysayers make their statements. They will only look more foolish. And Fan1, don't discount that RPI. Sure it will go down once we start conference play, but until that point it sure is nice to see what this team is accomplishing compared to the rest of the nation.

No, Fan1. I would rather the area not be satisfied with mediocrity.

Because you know what I say is true. I said before this season began I thought ETSU would have a good season by their standards- but that's just it.

By their standards. The current ETSU standard is "One and Done" in the NCAAs is a season to remember- even when Sports Illustrated picks ETSU to go to the Sweet 16.

The current ETSU standard is to brag about RPI in December.

The current community standard is to not hold our administration responsible for ruining the athletic department- it is instead ignoring this and saying "WOW! Tennessee lost to Temple by 16! We only lost to the Owls by 15! YAAAAAAAAAY!"

I'm sure there are people on this board who think this is some sort of moral victory. It is actually an irrelevancy.

And what happens when I ask for more? What if my standards are talking about eventually building a program that can win a National Championship in men's basketball?

I get "Debbie Downer." I get "That can't happen here." I get "If you want that stuff you'll have to look to the Vols/Hokies!"

No. I want it to happen HERE! I'm sick of putting on a dog collar and asking to be spanked by larger communities and teams/conferences.

So a nice victory against ASU.

But it is bittersweet. Because I just saw a promo that CBS will televise No. 10 Xavier and No. 23 Davidson (and no, not RPI, but actual national ranking here) and ETSU is bragging on a victory against a football school.

Yup, thats exactly why we're bragging.

Goldfinger

There is quite a difference between supporting an administration full of swine and supporting a group of athletes who are playing with heart in spite of being shackled by an administration.
