I think its pretty pathetic that Memphis is going after one of our coach's commits.
The Memphis coaching staff would be pretty large after they add Cousins' high school coach - don't know about NC State
It won't matter, DC will be at UAT next year with Calapari.
Apparently Cousins is not a commit to us anymore. Everything I have read has said he has reopened his recruiting.
Cousins has decommitted. coaches started going after him after he decommitted.
Let him be someone else's FN liability. One year of production for a team that won't win as many games as this one is not worth risking the APR or our university's academic reputation. Hiring that guy from Mississippi State was bad enough.
I really don't even care anymore. It is what it is, and we'll suit up who we have and I'll be happy with that. It'll be a shame if we don't land him, but I won't be surprised.
Don't get me wrong, but UAB has not exactly been looking like an attractive choice as of late. Especially for top recruits. This is in part thanks to our local media.
Everything I read said his coach has decomitted him. No one has heard a peep from Cousins.
If he ends up at Memphis or UAT I hope the NCAA comes calling. His coach may need a new pair of pants. He knees are worn slap out!
I'm to the point I just wish we would say we will not recruit him any more the way we did WS.

It is obvious that Cousins is waiting until Spring to sign. Can't we just wait until then to start talking about this kid. Why don't we talk about our CURRENT players? You know the ones that are actually wearing green and gold. The ones that are making the grades and getting minutes on the court.

CORRECTION: We didn't do what it took to get his HS coach. But we're not Memphis.

Yeah, we didn't do what it took, which was bend the rules of the LOI by altering it and making the player bigger than the school.
Cal is known as one of the best recruiters in basketball...if a player like DC is "on the market" so to speak...i would expect Cal to put on the "full court press"...between John Wall, DC, Derrick Favors, and lance Stephenson...we're bound to land 1 more 5-star.

Frankly, I will not be upset, nor surprised if Cousins ends up at Memphis. OK, I will be somewhat surprised if he is eligible to play college ball, but not too surprised if Memphis gets him eligible, somehow some way.
As a matter of fact, I found this old thread from February 2007, when he was a sophomore and it was just becoming apparent he was interested in UAB. here was my comment
