Baker on Hairston, Dye

Dusty Baker thinks there's a good chance Jerry Hairston Jr. will return to the Reds.
"He wants to come back," Baker said. "He's just negotiating. He's keeping me up to date. I told him, 'Don't take a offer without us countering.'"
Baker said the Reds aren't close to a Jermaine Dye deal.
I still think it could happen because there aren't many right-handed hitting, run-producing outfielders available. Maybe if the White Sox were willing to eat more of Dye's contract or if the Reds offered a different player than Homer Bailey, things could heat up again.
I asked Baker free agents like Raul Ibanez or Mark Kotsay.
"No because we're looking for a right-handed hitter," he said.
