Lots of Orange Bowl tickets available
Posted by BKoch at 12/9/2008 2:56 PM EST on Cincinnati.com

Apparently, there have been some reports in the media today that UC has sold out its allotment of Orange Bowl tickets. UC officials want you to know that's not true, although ticket sales are going well. I talked to senior associate AD Mike Waddell earlier today and he told me the school had sold roughly 4,300 tickets on Monday, which makes it the biggest cash day in the history of UC football. He said he expects that number to grow to 6,000 by the end of today. But with an allotment of 17,500 tickets from the Orange Bowl, there are still plenty remaining.

You can add 4 more to that total, I just grabbed mine today! There was no line whatsoever at the ticket office window, I think most people are calling or ordering online. 02-13-banana
I have my flights, have to wait until confirmation from a couple others before I order my tickets so that I can be sure that we are sitting together.
We just bought 9 today.
Wow, this is going to be huge. I'm very excited!
Our group just purchased 9 this afternoon as well. I think there are a lot of people waiting to finalize plans before officially purchasing tickets, so I'm optimistic about this number growing in the next week.

I agree with your take on this. The ticket sales will grow as fans finalize their plans.
Once my group has everything nailed down, that will be 8-10 more tickets sold. I expect to purchase these by Thursday.

Same here, haven't ordered tickets yet until things are finalized (hopefully tonight or tomorrow).
I don't have mine yet either. I need to get my trip figured out first.
Our group has a hold up as well - still waiting to hear back from everyone. It could be 5-10 people.
I bought 9 this afternoon.
I just bought some, possibly more on the way.
I have to get ours tomorrow, finally got the hotel situation settled. Will probably just stop by the ticket office, I will be around anyway. Add 7 more to the total.
Our group will be ordering 12 tomorrow. We just resolved who's going and finalized travel arrangements. I have to agree that many are getting travel arrangements finished. Eventhough I was 99% sure it would be the orange bowl, we waited for the announcemnt to be sure and it's taken a few days to get plans finalized.
I purchased my tickets from Stub Hub. I do not think they would count tickets from Stub Hub, Ticket Master, etc. officially towards UC's total. Does anyone know for ceratain?

Quite frankly, the deals from Stub Hub are a lot better than the UC ticket office. I paid a total, including shipping, of $75 for two tickets in the upper level on UC's side at the 30 yard line. UC has a list price of $125 and they do not say what section or row.

They may be cheaper, but you will not be in a sea of UC fans, and that is $250 that the athletic department will have to hope that someone else can make up for.
