There were rumors of a possible Kansas State or Southern Cal game.
2006 is gonna be a fun home schedule though with Miss State, UTEP, Marshall and Memphis

Go Blazers
So have you offically managed to get out of playing Troy next year?
Well, actually it is Troy backing out by refusing to honor the contract.

That said, now that it looks like the NCAA will allow 12 games next year, the game may be back on.

Well, let's not mention the fact that the SEC and Big 12 have been playing 12 games every season for quite a while now :D

I still disagree with us playing Jax State (that is what the grapevine is saying...an in-state team that ISN'T Alabama A&M or Alabama State).
We should have a pretty good home crowd for the UAB-Southern Miss game at least.

Yeah...next year is the year to break the 0-5 stint...we HAVE to win!
I think that we are going to be on the road against Troy.

I know that we need another home game, but we really don't need to play a Div. II school if we don't have to. According to this website, there are a few Div. I schools, like LSU, Nebraska, Pittsburgh & USF that are still trying to complete their 2005 schedules:

Now I know whay everyone thinks you are an idiot- because you are.
In the years that SEC and Big XII teams played 12 reg season games, we did to. It is uniform throughout the NCAA. The only exceptions are if you play at Hawaii ( which is why Alabama played 13 games last year), play in certain preseason games (like the kickoff classic) or during certain years when an extra saturday falls within the specified dates during which colleges are allowed to play football games. It just so happens that 2002 and 2003 were two years when that occured. Notice we played 12 in those years. As did all the other 116 teams in D-I.

Look at Troy's schedule on that website- it shows us playing them in Mobile. I would assume at Ladd-Peebles since it is the only stadium of any size down there. How could that be right? I know that Ladd is a palace compared to Crampton, but Jesus, why would they go that far out of the way- and us twice as far out of the way- to play each other?

At some point or another I've heard it'd be in Birmingham, Montgomery, Troy, and Mobile... I dont think anyone has a clue frankly.

I rather play them anywhere but Mobile. It seems to me though that this series, if it is to be played, needs to be home and home.
Now that we have connection with ULALA MAYBE THEY can COME AT BHM INSTEAD OR PLAYING jsu

You are a dumb***.

I was referring to conference championships, genius.

Sax, two teams playing in a championship game is not every team in the conference playing 12 games. 12 games refers to regular season games. A championship is not a regular season game.

See I was nice. I surprised even myself.

My point still remains. The SEC and Big 12 have teams that play 12 games in a season, excluding bowls. 04-cheers

ANYWAY, back on topic!!
JB in the alumni office said that the alumni office is planning tailgate parties @ Tenn., @ UTEP, and @ Troy. I think Memphis was in the mix as well. I lost focus when she said @ Troy. I asked her about the Troy situation. She had not heard about any changes.
Memphis should be the first place we have a tailgate, all others should fall in behind that game.
EXACTLY. I had a GREAT time in 2003 when we played Memphis.

I will make the Memphis Tenn and Troy FOR SURE if we play them
UTEP MAYBE.... \Marshall !
