Quote:Whatever kool-aid CMU sells us on this one, don't drink it. It ain't the truth. After two straight years in Detroit, the Chips desperately wanted the GMAC Bowl
Unfortunately, there is absolutely no evidence suggesting that CMU did not want to go to the MCB. It is a bowl game that is only miles from a majority of its fans which gives CMU a better chance to sell tickets to the game and make more money, or at least cut the losses that other teams will have. The GMAC bowl is in the middle of January, during the week, while school is going on. No one is going to go to that game as a fan. The only other game as a fan I would like my team to be in is the International bowl.

Lets face it, no team in the MAC has a fan base big enough to sell a ticket alotment outside of the region. I look forward to going home for the holidays and watching CMU play in person for the first time this year. That is just one fans opinion.
I think he was saying no one wanted to go to the MCB because of the competition being played. If Wisconsin or Minnesota was playing in the MCB, I'm sure both WMU, CMU and possibly Ball State would have been fighting for it. The MAC likes its Mid-Major BCS (especially Big 10) post season match ups. Again, as mentioned earlier, CMU playing MTSU wasn't exactly a thriller, yes CMU won but it wasn't a game for the ages. If CMU had beaten Purdue (ya right) that would be a game you guys never would have forgotten. CMU has done a good job w/ the Bowl game though, I hope you guys fill it up to capacity this year.

I like Couch's articles so much, he really covers everything. If he hadn't explained the logic behind the bowl decisions we would have been left in the dark by the athletic department.
Thats true I would love for CMU to play a mid-low level ACC or SEC team FAU is no better than MTSU.
