May be one of the biggest compliments I've heard given to UAB... not sure I believe it, but that's some major respect.

Since moving up to Division I seven years ago, Belmont has played its share of top-tier teams.
The Bruins played Auburn in 1998-99 when the Tigers where No. 5. During the 1999-00 season, Belmont played at No. 2 Florida. Last season, the Bruins went on the road and knocked off No. 23 Missouri.
So given the team’s history of playing major conference teams every season, consider coach Rick Byrd’s compliment for the Bruins next opponent, Alabama-Birmingham, a strong one.
