Congratulations Bearcats, UC shot the ball far better than I expected and we could not hit sand if we fell off a camel. Do us a favor and kick ass in the Big East so this is a good loss.

UAB has one big out due to injury 6-8
Another big out 6-10 and a guard due to academics.

Couple that with an APR hit of two scholarships and UAB is playing 5 men short right now. We just could not match up down low and must shoot the ball well to win with our short (no pun intended) numbers.

Good Luck the rest of the way.

See you guys in Birmingham next year. Hopefully we can keep playing after that. This is a fun series.
Well you all definitely pulled out all the stops in the last 3 minutes and tried to make it the longest regulation basketball game of all time. I think your team is pretty good, and if you would have hit a few more shots in the first half, it would have been a very close game. Davis does have them playing to their strength with the short bench...
Tht team of yours is going to be a tough out in March. Raise some hell in C-USA this year.

If you guys shoot any better you'll make the tourney no problem
Thanks for the kind words.

I really hope this series continues as it is a good RPI game for both schools. We were 28 before tip off.

Sorry to tell ya but Mick said the other night this would be the last game of the series. It was the 4th of 4 games we had to play against UAB for leaving Con-USA. He mentioned he wanted to get a home and home with someone like Oklahoma and have it on national tv. Of course things can change but it seems like this was the last one for a while

Oh really?I thought we had one more game to play down @UAB since we didn't play them the first year we was in the BEAST.

You still owe UAB a home game. It was a 4 game series. Surly Mick has the stones to return the game and fulfill the contract.

Look at the past, AK played their his year and this is Mick's third game against them. AK's year was our first season in the Big East
I would like to continue the series. I've been to games at Birmingham several times and was always treated well.
I was wrong, sorry, I was going off what Mick said at his coaches show, we didnt play in 05-06.

Guess we are going there next year

No they did not.

UAB and UC played as members of C-USA in UC's last season in C-USA.
That was the 2004-05 season. (we played on 2/19/05 at UC with UC winning as a member of C-USA)

According to both the UAB & the UC media guides ,(which i have) and my memory UAB and UC did not play in 2005-06 season. I can list every team we both played if you like.

UAB played at UC on 12/2/2006 UAB won
UC played at UAB on 12/1/2007 UAB won
UAB played at UC today 12/6/2008 UC won

You owe us a game. Case closed! 03-nutkick

We owe you a game and we also owe you a win! 04-cheers
Bring it on....... Like I said, looking forward to the rematch and I hope some UC fans make the trip down.
When they play next year I would be willing to bet almost anything it will be the last game.

I could really care less but I see where Mick is coming from. His feeling is if they are going to play an OOC true game it has to be on national t.v.

Under Mick UC's non-con schedule will be cupcakes at home, early season tourney's on national tv or against big 6 teams like Miss. St this year, Xavier, Memphis for 3 more games, and home and home series against ranked teams on national tv.

This is the first season that he has really had his hands on the schedule minus UAB and Memphis
With UAB having a top 10 recruiting class coming in and a possible second top 10 the following year, I would suspect a UAB-UC matchup would be a no-brainer for TV. Just sayin' It would also be a good RPI boost for both schools. If he doesn't want to play we will find someone else to play on TV.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't DeMarcus Cousins just re-open his recruitment?
UAB looked to me like they were one running big man away from being an absolute nightmare.

So much speed on the court and shooting ability too, but a hole in the post defensively and for rebounding purposes is tough to overcome.

Dude, I dont know much about UAB except that Vaden, Toney, Delaney, and Kinnard are all seniors. That is 3 guys averaging over 17 a game and another starter

According to rivals Adrain Coleman is your only signed player for 09. Dexter Fields is committed but not signed.

If Davis stays at UAB you should get Cousins but anything can happen in recruiting

I see no way in hell next years game is on TV even if you get Cousins and there is no way there is a game after next year
I have no problem continuing this series. UAB is always great competition and I've hated them since Gene Bartow. Going down there is always a hostile environment as we had trouble down there even when the Cats were in their prime. UAB has been a nice team over the last few years...especially against Kentucky in the NCAA tourney 03-wink
