Hello MAC football fans! We have all heard the crap about a 8-team playoff from experts to Obama, and we all know that would almost always leave the MAC out of the National Championship hunt just like the current crap system with the BCS. Well I invite you to check out our 16-team college football playoff system and leave your comments below and email us with other ideas!

Best of luck to Ball State, Buffalo, WMU & CMU in their bowl games!
Yes, it needs to be 16 teams and all conference champs need to be included to make it fair.

Thus the proposal linked above.

Yep, and henceforth the "Yes" agreeing with the article.

I don't consider it "unfair" if a poor team is excluded, even if they are conference champs. Personally, I think you add integrity to the system if you do so.

The only things I expect are the selection criteria to be announced before the season starts, and for the criteria to be equally attainable by all teams. That's "fair".

I like a 16-team playoff...I have been advocating one for 10+ years. But, I honestly think you only get buy-in if you don't have 7-5 conference champs replace 11-1 or 10-2 teams.

Thanks for coming around and working for a playoff.
They don't need 16 teams. Take the current bowl system and play them, when they're all over then take the top 4 teams and work a 4-team playoff, only adds 1 game for 2 teams and 2 for the other 2. They could take the top 3 bowls or whatever and rotate them like they do now to see who gets the semi-final games and championship game. This would then make the 2nd tier games that much more important because they need to win there to get to the elite final 4.
It shouldn't be all conference champions. The Sunbelt is an absolutely atrocious conference. There needs to be some minimum standard to reach: I say conference champions should at least finish in the Final BCS Top 25. C-DOA isn't good enough this year...and if UB manages to pull the upset, they shouldn't get a bid to a 16-team playoff, either.

Who are the top 4 teams. If Boise State, Utah, Ball State or anybody else finishes undefeated who's to say they aren't in the top 4? Making it a four team playoff doesn't solve a thing. Right now there are 10 teams who are 10-1 or better. Who gets into your final 4?

The Sun Belt is a rather mediocre-at-best conference, but we have more room to talk this year b/c the MAC has a undefeated Top 25 team. Outside of the MAC family, we are often seen this way by fans of other teams and conferences. Take 2007 for example when MAC Champion CMU was 8-6 overall, 7-1 against MAC teams and 1-5 against non-conference opponents. One of those losses included a loss to Division I-AA North Dakota State. Looks a lot like how we view the Sun Belt IMO.

A 16-team playoff gives a 13-0 Ball State (if they win tonight) or a 12-0 Boise a chance to participate, especially in a crazy year like this one with a undefeated Utah.

They are the 4 teams that finish 1-4 after the bowl games are settled. If you're not in the top 4 at that point you don't deserve a shot at the title. Most years you probably have 1 or 2 guys that are undefeated and can stake claim to saying they are the best along with another 1 or 2 who have 1 loss and say they have it because they play a brutal schedule like the SEC. A 4-team playoff in addition to the current bowl structure is perfect.
no playoffs-becarefull what you wish for, you might get it.
MAC would not be included

The current bowl system currently pits 1 versus 2. You would have to change it to 1 versus 8, and so forth.

Then, you'd have to call it a playoff.
Yes, it must be 16 teams. NO all conference champs are not guaranteed in. No one wants to watch Troy or East Carolina for example, this year. Give the non-BCS conferences at least 2 spots, but try to put somewhat close to the best 16 teams in the playoffs.

All conference champions in the Final BCS Top 25, then give at-larges in order by finish. So this year it would be (assuming Ball State wins) the Top 15 plus the ACC champion.

Georgia is 16th and they have no right to complain after getting stomped by Georgia Tech. Texas, USC, Penn State, Utah, Boise and Ball State (assuming they win) all have a right to complain about the current system.
