Motor City:Ball State vs Arizona State
Hawaii Bowl:Buffalo vs Hawaii
International Bowl:WMU vs Pitt
GMAC:CMU vs East Carolina
So, I guess they are assuming that a 5-6 ASU squad will win AT Arizona?
Any media outlet that has Buffalo anywhere outside of the International Bowl simply hasn't done their homework.

According to the Kalamazoo Gazette, the Broncos will either be in the Texas Bowl (good chance), Motor City Bowl (if Ball State opts out) or Independence Bowl (doubtful).
From the department of unsubstantiated bowl bids:

MCB: Ball State
Intl'l: Buffalo
GMAC: CMU
Texas: WMU

At least that is the latest scuttlebutt I am getting anyway...we'll see.
What about a BE team being available for the MCB vs BSU? In an article I saw posted at the Miami site, Rick Chryst was quoted as saying a 7 or 8 win BE team might be available for the MCB...perhaps that is with ND taking a BE bowl slot??
The BE needs Rutgers to win Thursday just to have enough teams for all of its bowl bids. They won't have any extra teams for the MCB.

So that means the Palm Beach Post is not the center of the College Football World?

Who knew?
Just posted it for conversation. At least they had four MAC teams Bowling.
The only way a Big East squad ends up in the Motor City Bowl is if Louisville upsets Rutgers tomorrow night. That would allow a 6-6 Notre Dame to sneak into the Sun Bowl, push West Virginia into the Meineke Car Care Bowl, drop Pittsburgh to the Papa John's Bowl, leave South Florida in the St. Petersburg Bowl, and still put Connecticut in the International Bowl. Then it would be up to the Big East office to find a pair of open spots for 6-6 teams Rutgers and Louisville. This is the only way.

The other thing is that an Arizona State upset puts them in the Hawaii Bowl by contract. This writer must be fantasizing about some sort of trade but it would cost the MAC a whole lot of money to send anyone to Hawaii. The easiest and cheapest thing would be for the MAC to simply whip out the NCAA Rulebook, which states that all seven-win squads must be placed into bowls before six-win teams, and force either the Texas Bowl or Independence Bowl to take the extra MAC team.
