Is coach O already there? This sounds familiar.

With the fence around Memphis and now the fence around Tennesee - nobody will ever leave the state!

Let's hope it's foreshadowing of things to come since the last guy who made the fence comment only lasted three seasons.
He needs to be more concerned with putting a fence around Alabama, Georgia, and Florida if he wants to be in Knoxville for very long.
From the blue perspective it would seem that UT has made a 'good' hire. I'll bet the rest of the SEC is happy as well. We'll see how he does but his credentials seem shakey.
So was his first recruiting call to Marlon Brown?

In his case he could gain the whole state...but lose every game.
he is doomed.
If he steals Monte from my Bucs I'll personally burn Neyland to the ground.

I hope you have a lot of gas. Word is Monte is on the way.

I think that was the only way that UTK would hire him.
He could get every player he wants to out of UT and still have a losing record...

He needs to re-evaluate a little.
"What has happened to my country?"

They listened to your choice for the last eight years and got two wars, an attack on American soil, Katrina, and an economic melt down. Obama and the democratics cannot possibly do worse. Fortunately "your country" got smarter.
F UT!

You definitely have me beat in years of being a fan, but I still love them. I'd be pretty crushed if we lost Monte.

+1
He better hope that fence around TN doesn't keep all the talent from those states out.
TN doesn't produce a ton of talent, but the ones that have gotten away have been big time players this year alone. Look at Alabama and their LB Hightower for an example, or Miami and Cooper. He knows he will have to recruit nationally, in fact he's already gotten the nations number 1 all purpose back Oku to recommitt to TN without even making contact with him. "Putting a fence around" TN is something he is going to do to not let the Hightower's and Cooper's of the state get away. It's also pretty standard talk from a coach at his first presser.

Quote:He also said he would "put a fence around Tennessee," meaning he would not let top players escape to other colleges. He mentioned he would head to Memphis immediately to chase a top prospect.
I thought he might be coming to Memphis to recruit Tommy back to the Big Orange and help complete his staff.
He's coming to talk to Marlon Brown, then heading up to Oklahoma to visit with Oku
