I was at the Bears vs. Vikes game last night, my third in a row -

* Devin Hester is not the man he used to be, and he really seems afraid of taking a shot when he crosses the middle on pass plays. He also seems to run 10 yards sideways for every 1 yard forward.

* I have never personally seen such a game changing set of downs as the Vikes goal line stand and a follow-up 99 pass TD. Wow.

* Football games are still no place to bring a family.

* Soon, beer will be $10 bucks a bottle

* Minneapolis is cold. And it is not even cold yet.

* You might not like the Vikes (and I don't) but their fight song and that giant Viking horn they play is a bit catchy.

* Metrodome is loud. Really loud.

* Some of those Orton interceptions were thrown directly to Viking defenders. It's even more obvious live than on TV.

* Matt Forte is the real deal for the Bears.

* Adrian Peterson has Hall of Fame written all over him. Incredible. He is Jordonesque in the sense that it is worth it to watch a game, just to watch him play.

* That was a cheap shot from Adawale Og on Frerotte. But Frerotte has definitely taken some acting lessons.

* Bears need a sticky hands WR ala Tom Waddle, someone who they can count on to catch the ball every time, even if only for a couple yards.

* When the PA announced that the Packers lost, Purple and Orange all cheered and high fived. It was sort of funny - Cheesehead hatred!
Maybe all those people who suggested Orton should get a contract extension for 7 mediocre games need to admit he hasn't accomplished anything. He was brutal. 3 points vs. the Packers in an important game, now basically 7 points in a must win game against the Vikings (the other TD was basically a gimme from the Payne INT). Similar to Rex after his great first couple months in 2006, it looks like teams have enough film on the guy and he's no longer scaring anyone. Good thing Hester ran 60 yards after that 5 yard slant route or it'd have been a really bad night for the guy.
Hester should not return kicks any more. He calls fair catches with not one guy within 15-20 yards, lets balls sail over his head that get downed within the 5 yard line, and runs east and west more than north and south.
Lovie Smith and the Bears' coaching staff's inability to call a goalline offense may have single handedly cost them a division title. Absolutely unbelievable that they would try and do that piece of sh1t fullback dive on 3rd down..theyve done that SO many times and its NEVER worked this season..and then why did they have that coverage for Peanut on the big Berrian play? Tillman is a big, physical corner. Get him on the line of scrimmage playing bump, and give him some safety help over the top. Incredible how phucking stupid this coaching staff is

He had some other balls that could have been interceptions, in this game and earlier in the year. But before the 1st interception, he set the Bears record for most completions w/out an interception.

That guy runs hard and he is incredibally gifted. And he dishes out the punishment when he is hit.

The Packers are the #1 rival for Bears and Vikings. But the Packer's #1 rival depneds on where you live, closer to Chicago or Minnesota.

Yeah I have no idea how anyone on this coaching staff has a job. It is sad, very sad. Turner just does not have a clue. This year though he does not have much to work with.
I used to hate the Queens more than the Bears until the Bears reached the Super Bowl a couple years ago. Plus I'm around Bears fans on a daily basis, so I absolutely can't stand that team now. Matter of fact, before Steve Smith destroyed the Bears in 2005, I didn't even really bother to hate the Bears all that much.

And something that both Bears and Packers fans can agree on -- coaching matters. The Bears 4 and out at the 1 looked eerily similar to a certain game that was on a few hours earlier that Sunday when McCarthy goofed up his playcalls. A stretch play to Jackson on 2nd and goal at the 1 followed by a FB dive on 3rd and goal. And then not having the brass to go for it on 4th and goal at the 1 with 2 minutes left in a tie game. Why can't these meatheads just use a QB sneak? Everytime we've done it this year, Rodgers has gained at least a yard. I'm sure Bears fans were thinking the same thing on their poorly executed 4 play, 0 yard drive.

It's just a shame because Minnesota really isn't that good this year. And obviously the Packers and Bears aren't either. More than likely a deserving team like ATL and/or Dallas would be sitting home because this crap-filled incest division has to get a team into the playoffs that's going to get smoked in the first round regardless.
Well with both Williams suspended, I don't think the Vikings have a shot at all at the playoffs. They are the heart of that defense.

Like everyone else has been saying, this division sucks and the team who gets lucky enough to be in 1st at the end of the year will not win a playoff game.
