Here's a discussion, mostly between GVSU and Ashland fans, about the possibility of Chuck Martin taking the vacant EMU football coaching job.

Martin to EMU

Not all GVSU fans would be saddened to see him go. There is great disappointment with Martin's gameplan for yesterday's game against UM-Duluth.

UMD-GVSU Gamenotes
Some of our Grand Valley friends have some gross misconceptions about EMU overall and Division I football period. If Martin doesn't want the job at EMU fine he not apply. I expect we will have quality candidates without or with Martin in the mix.
Don’t pay any attention to the arrogance/ignorance of GVSU fans. I live in West Michigan and can confirm that they have no concept of the difference between D1A and D2. They automatically think that GVSU is superior to every school in the MAC. They actually consider GVSU to be on par with Big 10 schools in both academics and athletics. It is quite sad actually. 01-wingedeagle

I, too, have experienced those attitudes from GVSU fans. I will actually be disappointed if EMU ends up with Martin. Kelly's success, notwithstanding, I would rather see someone with FBS experience in the position.

BTW, just heard that Kelly is interviewing for the Washington job.
kelly got love him he doesn't know the meaning of the word loyalty, gee wonder where the Ohio newspapers are about all the kids giving verbals to Cincy?
He only has loyalty to himself. He will take the first job offered to him in a major conference. He has already interviewed twice for the Washington job. These are the candidates in order of preference.

1. Brian Kelly
2. Kyle Whittingham
3. Pat Hill
4. Mike Leach
5. Jim Mora
I have to laugh some of the Grand Valley fans actually think they could beat a Division I team and they can't beat Minnesota Duluth.
Amazing.

Amazing.

That's why they're so upset with Martin - only poor coaching (and possibly cheating officials) could keep them from their birthright of another D-2 national championship!
