Ohio wins in Oxford back to back for the first time since 1961 and 1963 seasons. 3 in a row for Ohio over Miami in the Battle of the Bricks. Bobcats send Miami to their second 10 loss season in three years. 3 losing seasons in a row for Miami....Miami is 10-27 over last three years compared to 19-19 for Ohio over last three seasons. Solich now 23-26 in 4 years at Ohio. Bobcats have turned the tables on Miami in this rivalry under Solich. Montgomery's days are numbered in Oxford and his 1-3 record against Ohio a big reason for it.
Garrett had a monster day for Ohio, his performance was key for Ohio staying in control of this game.

Ohio has explosive big play capability:

Time of Possession
Miami 30:45
Ohio 29:15

Total Yards
Ohio 516
Miami 366

Ohio was able to rack up a large amount of yards in a short amount of time and that is how they won. Ohio I don't think had 1 series where they held Miami to 3 and out all game, the D stiffened up for the Bobcats every time in the redzone.
Final offensive leader stats for the Bobcats:

Quarterback
Boo Jackson (2355 yds, 19 TDs)
Theo Scott (247 yds, 1 TD)
Brandon Jones (193 yds, 1 TD)

Running Back
Chris Garrett (529 yds, 5 TDs)
Donte Harden (454 yds, 2 TDs)
Boo Jackson (333 yds, 2 TDs)

Wide Reciever
Taylor Price (694 yds, 5 TDs)
LaVon Brazil (384 yds, 1 TD)
Chris Garrett (290 yds, 2 TDs)

Punt Returns
LaVon Brazil (181 yds, 1 TD)
Travis Carrie (57 yds)
Chris Garrett (10 yds)

All Purpose Yards
Chirs Garrett (829 yds, 7 TDs)
Taylor Price (713 yds, 5 TDs)
LaVon Brazil (640 yds, 2 TDs)
You know what is best about those offensive leader stats.....everybody is back for next year. Bobcats will be loaded next year.

04-rock
i'm already counting the days until we host Connecticut on September 5! 04-rock
With BG, Miami and perhaps more division foes breaking in new coaches the Bobcats might be the favorite next fall. Solich atleast provides stability for recruiting. These other schools now face major questions.
yeah being named the favorite would be cool for us fans, but when you take into account the press' track record with predicting the MAC East recently, i'm not sure being named the favorite would be a good thing for the team! just look at this year's top two favorites to win the East! 03-puke 03-lmfao
I honestly would not be too quick with crediting Frank Solich with building the program up to move ahead of Miami. It is more of a fact that Frank has improved OU a little bit, but Miami is in total freefall. As for all your offensive "weapons", you did not move the ball on us nearly as well as Kent or Toledo did at the end of the year. Almost half of the beginning of the year two deep on defense were injured and our defense is really bad at this point. While your running back had 220 yards, Toledo's had 330 and set out the 4th quarter.
ROFL at Richard! Keep digging for the positives. You ONLY gave up 220 yards to our running back that had like 300 yards rushing on the season. 2-10 record and you got owned on your home field to close out the season.
That's why our Coach was canned, Gooch. Losing to OU 3 years in a row will certainly hasten that kind of outcome.
10 wins isn't a pipe dream with our schedule next year.

I think you need to reread my post. Absolutely nothing positive about Miami's football team at this point. By the way, don't put your faith in Frank.
Actually, you did try to put a positive spin on it. Great that our RB got 220 but not as awesome as the yardage that Toledo put up on you. Take a look at our total yardage though. 39 carries for 326 yards. 190 yards in the air on 15/20 passing. That's just awful defense. Again, the days of Big Ben seem so long ago.

ouBJ, pass the pipe over. I think we'll go at least 6-6 next year. You're smoking chronic if you think we'll go 10-2.
i could see us anywhere from 7-5 to 9-3. 10-2 would be awesome but i'm not quite sure we're ready to make that big of a leap from one year to the next. i can see us going 3-1 in the non-conference and we'll have Miami, Kent State, and Temple at home which will help.
I think we got a shot a Tennessee as they don't score a lot and just made a stupid hire for a head coach. That guy is way to young to be a head coach in the pros or college. Tennessee might be next years Michigan......losing to anyone, anywhere, anytime while the break in the new head coach. Ask Nebraska how former Raider coaches work out. NFL coaches are often major bust in college. Pete Carroll the lone exception.
I think Tennessee will be just fine. You do realize that Kiffin was USCs offensive coordinator before heading to the Raiders, right? Or are you selectively forgetting about that. I do think that we'll give them a game like we did against OSU.

and like NIU gave UT this year. and, didn't Wyoming go into Knoxville and beat them this year? who knows...stranger things have happened. i'd still count it as a loss right now but as things evolve next September leading up to the game, i might be apt to change my mind!
Gooch, you evidently read what you want to read. No relevance to what I posted. My point, so even you can understand it, is this. Miami really sucked at the end of the year. You seem to be tremendoulsly excited about the success OU experienced in their last two games, in particular drilling Miami in Oxford. I am pointing out that it wasn't such great offense by OU, Kent and Toledo ( a couple of other weak teams) were even more impressive against our futal defense. Also, you are putting your faith in an alcoholic coach who cannot be counted on long term. I do not see the great future for OU football that you seem to gushing over.
