I heard him name come up 2 nights ago during a late ESPN game. They were listing the best 3 point shooters and came to his name after about 7-8 others. The color guy brought his name up and then the play-by-play guy added: "yeah, but he's more of a streak shooter than a pure shooter".

Do baskets by streak shooters count less than those by a pure shooter?

Vaden is a pure shooter is in every sense that term can be used about a basketball player. He is also streaky, in that sometimes he streaks to a place that transcends beyond the description "pure shooter" to a dimension that can only be described as "perfect shooter."

Everyone has an opinion; of course the announcer's opinion is dead wrong.

As far as behind the arc, Vaden can be streaky. But, he has/is doing other things to contribute.

Sort of like running over a snake in the middle of the road, eh?

No, more like running over a snake in the middle of the road, while driving a stick shift, putting it in reverse to put it under the back tires, then popping the clutch from 2nd to 4th.

Is that better or worse than someone who streaks through the quad and into the gymnasium?

He was mentioned during the Indiana game. They talked about him following Davis and they mentioned that UAB has a very good team this year.

All shooters are streaky. Just some more than others......
It's meant as a slight put down but when it's all said and done Vaden will be earning quite a bit more than that goofball announcer.

It's ok to be a streak shooter when you hit about 40% when you are not on a hot streak. There will be some absolute sick moments in regards to Vaden an scoring this season. When C-USA season hits he should be in grade A form.

If we are discussing the best shooters in college basketball, add Stephen Curry to the "streaky shooter" list with Vaden... 0 points tonight knocks him from the "pure shooter" list. Seriously, some of these commentators are a joke.
