More e-mails need to be sent and more signs need posted. I've talked to several fans who aren't even aware that they need to wear red to the game. The Black-out was marketed hard and looked good. But I can imagine a large number of fans showing up wearing black for this game too.
A great place to put stuff is around the entrance to TUC on campus. Especially down what is called "mainstreet", Just about everystudent walks down that path daily.
People need to be standing at every entrance hawking red hoodies and long sleeved T Shirts. I just bought a red hoodie because my old red one is lost.
One thing that has been done is that the ticket for the game sent to all season ticket holders is RED and says RING OF RED on it noting the special nature of the game. Today is PRESS CONFERENCE DAY for UC so look for other things to come from this.
They need to pass out at least 6000 free t-shirts to students in RED to start with then have RED Poms or towels in all the other 29,000 seats. This is our CHANCE the entire nation will be watching..It will be hard for fans to show RED in the winter without some help! It was much easier for Black with winter coats etc.
Over 100,000 emails are going out in the next 24 hours to push the RING OF RED.

Providing 35,000 premium items is not feasible in these economic times - that type of giveaway would cost in excess of $30K.

Our fans have proven to be quite innovative and I know that a large number of the students are planning something that will be a great visual.
What about someone like Dave and Barry's? I have a t-shirt they handed out a few years ago at a game. I know it's late, but I'm sure someone could have stepped up for a big game like this.
Dave and Barry's is no longer involved in college athletics sponsorships and licensing.
Steve and Barry's

I think you combined Dave and Buster's with Steve and Barry's.

Steve & Barry's was a great partner for UC Athletics over the last two years (2006-07/2007-08) and afforded us the opportunity to give out more than 30,000 t-shirts at various athletics events. That partnership ended last spring due to a change in philosophy from the company, which has shifted gears in recent years to paying celebs such as Stephon Marbury, Sarah Jessica Parker, Amanda Bynes and Venus Williams to develop signature product lines. With every college logo that they used in making their goods, S&B had to pay a licensing fee. When you are dealing with more than 100 schools, that gets pricey and the return on their investment required an enormous gross of product to be sold. Investing in a few celebs proves to be more cost effective, is a PR boost for the celeb, and requires a new business model to be implemented.
you may want to read the going out of business article posted above yours marketing.
They will reorganize and reappear as a boutique brand... smaller and more NE based.

For right now, hit the stores and buy up the stuff - cheap Christmas gifts!
I was at Cincinnati Mills yesterday. Not many big sizes left, and almost all have the old logo on them. All the Xavier, Notre Dame and Louisville stuff you could ever want however. Hoodies were $13 each or 2 for $22.

"Basketball Game Presentation

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We wanted to reach out and get your feedback on the basketball game presentation. This forum has proved to be active in expressing opinions and so please share your thoughts?

Some of the changes this year include maximizing the UC Pep Band and cutting down on prerecorded music. Our goal is to move towards a traditional NCAA environment as opposed to an NBA style, which is hampered with the inability to cut off the lights for introductions (type of lights - too expensive to replace).

All constructive feedback is appreciated.

I would think the die hards on this forum represent the real bearcat fans. Guess pleasantville posters are in demand these days.
Brent, are you going to add this year's wins to your signature?
