I can honestly say that I have never seen a full episode of Star Trek nor have I ever seen one of the movies.

Of course they are. I mean, at least one of them puked after just two bites of a Death Row hot wing.

Really good Star Trek movies
II: The Wrath of Khan
III: The Search for Spock
IV: The Voyage Home
VI: The Undiscovered Country
First Contact
I'll give this movie a shot. They ultimately need to go forward rather than trying to rehash the past.

Star Wars is for kids, Star Trek is for adults.

Totally disagree. Just like with Batman Begins and the 2nd Incredible Hulk, I think going back and doing right is exactly what this franchise needed. A young cast that can attract a younger audience and introduce to a new but Old Star Trek will do wonders for this franchise.
I'm hyped for this movie to come out and was presently surprise to see the new trailer.
