Another notable change I've seen in a positive way for the MAC over the last 3-4 years is the ability of "medium" MAC schools like Toledo, BG, Akron to pull off quality BCS wins.

Last 3 years WMU has taken down quality BCS schools Virginia, Iowa (Joe PA couldn't) and Illionois.. A near miss at Florida State where a late td w/30 seconds was called back would've added another. They've come to play in those games and have been the real dragon slayers as of late.

A Michigan sports celebrity? I think you've bought into Huge's own self promotion as a media elite. This guy was thrown out of Chicago market only to land into a nice little niche here in Michigan. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that he talks about the Michigan MAC schools more than other media outlets -- even though he promotes CMU from their own athletic department. Hell, even his sidekick a CMU alumnus. I love the shows concept but Huge needs go...

Quote:In Kalamazoo, it is pitiful how the fans only seem to show up for the opener and when Central is at Western. If the Broncos fans don't start filling the seats, Western never will be able to afford Cubit and what the open market could warrant for his services. Jones seems pretty content at Central, and has an athletic department willing to market the program.

WMU consistently does a pretty good job at marketing our program -- and I would love to compare our attendance versus CMU when they they aren't winning MAC championships. If Illinois would've played us in Waldo, we would have had an almost guaranteed sell out. Regardless, we have a well established fan base that will continue to bring in the numbers that are near the top of the conference every year.
