Getting to be that time of the year. I suggest that their could be as many as 6 or 7 coaching changes. Any insight out there
I think Gill is gone. Especially because he's losing a Sr. QB and RB, and he'll be in rebuilding mode next year if he stays. If he doesn't take any offer he gets I'd be shocked.

Montgomery may be gone. I'm not sure what the sentiment is down there but Miami has been atrocious this year and that's putting it lightly.

Golden could be on his way elsewhere, but I don't think Temple has been quite impressive enough for him to get any good offers. He may be a year away yet.

I don't think Jones is going anywhere although, depending on how CMU finishes, he will probably be on the radar of some schools.

Amstutz is obviously gone.

Cubit may get some looks, but again I think he stays put as well.

If BSU wins out Hoke may leave. If they don't run the table though, he may stay one more year.

Frank the Tank will be at Ohio until at least 2013.

The rest of the coaches I'm not sure. Kill won't leave after one year although he's done a hell of a job.

Most of what happens with these guys is which coaches at BCS schools get canned. You can't move up the ranks without someone ahead of you going down. Should be interesting to watch the domino effect.
Word on the street that if EMU wins only 2 games Genyk is gone. One remaining game is vs. CMU. Ugh. I'm not even sure that a win over Temple will be enough...
Ahh yes I forgot about Genyk. I think he's gone, but you gotta feel for the guy. Anyone who goes to EMU is facing a losing proposition. That program is just so far gone that the deck is just too stacked against you to have much success.
Kent State

The Kent State athletic department held a meeting with the local media Friday to announce its intention to “fulfill” its contract with football coach Doug Martin. Martin is under contract with the university until the end of the 2010 season. – Kent News
Just speculating...Brady Hoke could get a call, the problem for him is that there s/b no Big 10 or Big 12 openings unless Mich lets Rich Rod go and Pinkel moves from MO... he is NOT a KState type pick.....He has no chance in SEC, maybe a Big East @ Syracuse or Cinn if Kelly moves on.
How do you win at EMU when sitting in their stadium against their game vs NIU, I could see the blimp hovering Michigan Stadium. Just bad logistics

Montgomery has to go ... There is just TOO much talent @ Miami to put up w/ that $#@&. IF they hire the right guy they will be in the hunt in 09'.
There are articles in the Indy press about Hoke's "Cardinal Pedigree" - he, children, etc. are BSU grads (I forgot the details but he can hold a BSU alumni Christmas dinner with blood relatives).

I hope BSU can keep him happy in Muncie.

I say they do.

A real 'sleeper' is IF somehow BSU goes 13 - 0 and Utah, Boise, etc. lose then BSU could/would get the BCS bid. IF I remember the BCS gig, the school gets 1/3, their conference gets 1/3 and the other BCS conferences share the other 1/3 of the BCS payout.
Of course Amstutz at Toledo is gone. I think Montgomery at Miami might be gone, I know many Miami fans want him gone, but I just got this gut feeling he will be back next season.

Turner Gill, Bill Cubit, Brady Hoke, and Butch Jones will all get looks, but I think they will stay. Gill would probably be gone if offered though, I just don't think it will happen.

Jeff Genyk will likely be gone.

Starks is only a junior so hell still be around next year (lucky you guys)

Next year will be anything but a rebuilding year for UB - Willy is going to be gone yea, but other than that, were really not losing anything that cant be replaced....we also have 2 OL graduating, but i think their back ups are just as good.

Starks and Roosevelt will still be there and we have a very promising QB in Zach Maynard who is a dual threat guy.

Gills contract expires in 2012 but almost no one expect him to last until then....however, a lot of the UB fans believe that hell be around for at least next season and possibly 2010. UB has the talent, depth, and coach to compete for the MAC title for a minimum of 2 more years. He may receive an offer or two after this season, but he also might be compelled to finish what he started. And to be honest, there are quite a few coaches in the MAC who may not have as much hype as Gill, but have acheived much more success (BSU, CMU, WMU), and to a lot of programs thats going to be a bigger decider than anything.

He is terrible. Does Miami admin want to lose? Is Miami admin that out of touch? They have PLAYERS they need coaching.
As much as BSU and Buff fans will fantasize as to why each Coach will stay at their MAC Schools (loyalty, they like the neighborhood, they are alums) that is all fantasy. Each ,given the chance to go up a notch ,to a school that makes sense, will do so.

Don't be so down on your team. You can beat CMU. In fact, I am depending on it.03-weeping
THe players should treat it like a bowl and Genyk should treat it like his job depended on it.
I think Gill has another year in Amherst. He'll hold out for a big school.

You are right that with level of the MAC East as is, Buffalo under Gill should be division contenders once again in 2009.

Hoke I would think would be an automatic choice for any Big Ten openings. The guy has done a phenomenal job at Ball State which was really a second tier MAC job before he started.
I think Reggie Withspoon is gone too. Can they do this before the seasons starts?

05-nono 03-shhhh Montgomery is doing a fine job, just a fine job! no reason for him to go ANYWHERE! LOL
-Miami can't afford for their disaffected fans to further fall off. Montgomery out.
-EMU doesn't have that problem. Like Kent, no enormous fanbase to lose, so Genyk gets another year.
-Hoke stays another year with an eye towards IU.
-Brandon heads to Wyoming.
-Pinkel leaves Mizzou for Washington, opening the door for Gill at Missouri
