I know me and my room mate. That makes two so far. Also, does anyone know of the plans for the festivities?
I might drop by for a couple of marshmellows and a round of
koom-by-yah.

But I won't be staying long, since my son is making the trip with me.

How old is your son? If he's pretty young he might like the camping thing... being on University grounds, it'll have to be pretty G-rated.
I'm going to drive by and throw eggs at everyone.
I have to work until 11:30PM or so, but I'll drop by around 12AM just to see what's going on and to take some pictures.
My girlfriend and I will be there...
I know Slinkie will be there...
Several Pi Kapps, AOPis, and others...
A few folks from UAB Athletics admin. will be camping...
I'm thinking there will be around 40-50 folks, but maybe more.

As far as festivities, we're in the process of ironing out the details, but we should have videos of previous UAB games and movies available for viewing, there MIGHT be a band, and I'm sure folks will be out throwing the football and frisbees... it'll be a really laid back camping atmosphere.

No open fires, but hopefully more than a few people will bring grills... the Gang Green grill may be available.

The big thing is that if you camp all night you will be given 1st entry privilidges... basically you'll be able to pick your seat in the student section and general admission. I'll have the final info tonight.
Is anyone welcome to come? Where will the camping out actually be done?
It'll be between Campbell and Bartow and from what I understand it is open to everyone.
I MAY be comming, it really all depends on what kind of mood i am in on Friday
It is an actual camp-out on the lawn between Campbell and Bartow... bring your tent, grill, sleeping bag, and plenty of warm clothes. Bathroom facilities will be available all night. It is now officially Anderson Alley.
Someone from the al.com board brought up a good point. What do we do the day of the game? Do we have to be packed up before a certain time or will there be security to watch everything?
All those details will be ironed out in a meeting this afternoon... I'll post the official details tonight. Right now it looks like we'll have to be packed up by a certain time before the game, but like I said, we'll all have to wait and see until after the meeting.

A lot of resources are coming together to make the campouts organized, safe, and most importantly... fun. I don't think anyone will be disappointed with the final results.
schard i want to tell you thank you for all of your hard work with Anderson Alley.

I second that. I honestly never expected the thing to pick up as much steam as it did. The thing starts out as a random suggestion and could wind up being a full-blown tradition. Maybe THAT thread should be nominated for the Blazer Archives.

Not to be a naysayer, but let's wait until Saturday morning before we make a judgement on how successful this venture has been :ecu:
Yes, good job guys for taking the intiative to do this. Let's try not to make this a "one hit wonder" either.

With that said, regardless of who shows up at what time I still get my normal seat in the SS.

I bought some things yesterday. I hope I have time to make some signs.

Word.
You guys should bring a few supplies for people to make signs while camping...maybe it would result in more signs in the arena...

I'd like to see some signs about Anderson Alley... after all, this will be a national TV game.

The success of this event won't be seen in the number of folks that show up to the first event, but in how well it is organized and how smoothly it runs this first time.

To materialize the way it has in such a short time is just crazy... then again, that's the way the entire history of UAB has been; something born out of nothing, an idea or dream at most.
