The way I see it we don't have much hope for playing at Ford Field this year, besides the Illinois game.....
We would have to win all of our remaining MAC games, and CMU would have to lose two games (@NIU, BSU, @EMU remaining).
I don't see CMU losing both @NIU and BSU. Hopefully they will and BSU would win out and it would be a showdown in Muncie with the winner going to Ford Field for the championship game.
I really hope our team is focused on winning the remaining MAC games and not the game against Illinois. We must win the remaining games (EMU and UT) to put the pressure on BSU, then hopefully the game in Muncie will mean something....

If we all finish with 1 loss (WMU, CMU, BSU) then, I think we have a shot. Let me figure out the numbers. I'll be right back.
BSU definitely needs to beat NIU. If we finish tied with just CMU and not in a 3-way tie, we lose the tiebreaker.
I've decided it's way too early to figure out the numbers. Hell, NIU could beat CMU and NIU and we win the West based on our win over them.
Alls I know right now is that CMU and BSU control their own destiny. If WMU and NIU win out, they may need other things to fall into place for them to win the West.
I don't see BSU as the issue. I see that CMU needs to lose 2 MAC games as the issue. BSU & NIU MUST beat CMU, or we're done. I don't see CMU losing to EMU. What does the BSU/NIU game have to do with it? Am I missing something?
You're right JP. I was more answering the 3-way tie with one loss question. Best thing for us is for CMU to lose twice in the @NIU/BSU/@EMU stretch. Hell, I could see them losing all 3.

Basically, we need to become HUGE NIU Fans. (not hard, i've always liked them) If they can Beat CMU, then we definately still have a shot. Also, I wouldn't count on CMU beating Eastern easily. They always seem to struggle with the eagles. What happens if NIU beats CMU and BSU, CMU beats BSU, EMU beats CMU, and we lose to BSU. That would be crazy and not totally impossible. 4 way tie for the West.

Dont put it past NIU to beat CMU. ITs already been stated that CMU has taken on quite a few injuries and they didn't look too stellar against a sub-par Toledo program. I believe its also on the road. NIU has become quite a tough team this year... I think the tie-breaker if there is one... is that Jerry Kill can outcoach Butch... on his home turf (in my opinion).
IF we win out and Ball beats CMU that leaves: Us beating Ball which beat CMU which beat us. SO... someone smarter than me please tell me how that will probably figure itself out. I know it was explained in an earlier post but bottom line... who wins?
