Or use our resources in chicago rather then iraq.
Where those evil muslims live.

C'mon b. Aren't you the one always saying Republicans need to lighten up? Although a serious subject, there is a humorous (in an ironic sense) aspect to so many folks desperate to get our military out of Iraq regardless of future consequences - meanwhile more are being killed in Obama's old stomping grounds. Yet we hear nary a peep about it - much less real action from Obama, the press or anyone (including Republicans - though they have very little influence in that area) for that matter.

Does happy have a point about you?
Obama is from Honolulu isn't he?

That's what my local newspaper tells me.

Is that comment directed at my reference to Chicago as Obama's old stopping grounds? If so, I'm not sure if you are trying to be funny or like most of us are ignorant about his so-called "experience" and "accomplishments".

I'll assume you are serious. He was born in Honolulu but moved to Indonesia when he was around 6 before moving back in fifth grade. He stayed there through HS, but I don't think he has lived there since. Aside from school, most of his career since then has been based in Chicago.

Quote:Obama was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996, succeeding State Senator Alice Palmer as Senator from Illinois' 13th District, which then spanned Chicago South Side neighborhoods from Hyde Park-Kenwood south to South Shore and west to Chicago Lawn.

Here's a link to a Chicago Tribune article conveniently referred to as:

An unauthorized tour of Obama's Chicago Stomping Grounds

I wonder if he'll do for all of us what he "accomplished" for Chicago's South Side?
Got it.

I grew up near Chicago. The southside has been a rough area for my entire life. It's a shame too.

On a side note, it seems that Cincy is doing a lot better with the whole violent crime thing this year than in years past. Props to Cincy.
03-lol The way this board spins everything to hate on Obama is quite amusing. Maybe not too surprising, the safest area in Chicago is the local gay district "Boystown"

I'll take your word for it that it is the safest palce in Chi-town.

It may be the 'safest', but I'm sure it is also the biggest pain in the as$! 03-lmfao

(drum roll please!)

Thank you, thank you....

I will be opening in the Catskills next week.....

I hope you did not take my post as being serious or uptight. I think you guys could stand to lighten up. This thread is a perfect example.

I don't see where bringing our troops home and inner city crimes tie together in some way. If anything, it just proves we should be securing our own nation first.

It's local news. Thats why you don't hear about it. Obama has to appeal to the nation if he wants to get elected. Buy a Chicago paper if you want know about it. And you know this. And you know this was a stretch of a topic.

Now if he was just joking. Well he got me.

I'm not gonna get uptight about this stuff. Neither should you.
Lets let rath do all the stressin.

So you thought superfly was serious when he said "we need to get out of Chicago"? I think it might be too late for you...

Doesn't he know if we evacuate Chicago that's like an open invitation for the Canadians to come take it over and start spreading hockey games everywhere football used to be played? Talk about ruining a country. 03-lmfao

Even worse -- curling!

I thought he was trying to make a point by comparing apples to Steak.

If you're going to make an honest comparison then find what the rate is per population and don't forget to add in all the civilian deaths in Iraq.
Quote:civilian deaths in Iraq.

you took the words right out of my mouth. but it would only be a matter of time before someone blamed those on obama too.
So is if safe to say that the Community Orgainizer Obama, code for Tammany Hall, made any difference other than making himself a politician first and foremost? Spend and distribute other peoples money? He was always looking for an outcome based ending, a self actualizing person who didn't want to serve but wanted power.

You don't think ego plays a part in someone wanting to be the leader of the worlds greatest superpower? All the crap they have to put up with?

whoever wins it's gonna boost their ego and theyre gonna make a little money on the side as well. And if you think thats only democrats, oh well.

Barack has young kids with plenty of life left after his term. He also has the heavy burden of being the first of his kind in that position.

For mccain this could be just be a capstone on his long political career.

I always wonder how some people end up getting swindled out of their money and life savings. giving out their SS# and whatnot to cons. Then I read this board and I see how some can be tricked to believe anything without questioning it.

Cincy is light years to where Chicago is. Obviously the South Side of Chi-t0wn has been a war zone fro many many years. And the man that tried to change that, oh forgive him! His biggest fault was trying to help their educational system, albeit thru perhaps fraudulant ties. What a bad bad man. IMO, Barack isn't as bad a man as y'all make him out to be. And I seriously doubt he means as much as he says. Trying to get elected president has to take an awful lot of pandering which you won't follow thru with. Which is why I'd rahter cast my vote (even with a democractic congress) than McCain's pseudo "neo con" talk.

Honestly, wtf is wrong with the leader of the free world talking with a hostile state n. Ah maybe to build an understandin that won't cost thousands of US lives and tax dollars that could be appropriated elsewhere, like this deficit or a govt/taxpayr bailout. Conservative? Yeah Bush was real Conservative. McCain=McSame. Says pretty words, but he's file in rank. He wasn't at one point.

McCain says all the things a real conservative would want to hear. Whatever classifies as a conservative these days. C'm on it's politics. And I really wish I had a third option to vote for, considering this isn't the most ideal major party candidates running.
Lush Wrote:McCain says all the things a real conservative would want to hear.

Lush, you obviously have no idea what a REAL conservative would want to hear.
