Yes, Captain Obvious. And yet people are still not convinced. I've seen posts, I believe on this board stating "win this year, or else". I think that is absolutely ridiculous.

Now I think this is a big judgment year. I know this team is young, but I want to see this team improve throughout the season and I want to see some semblence on an offense. This year will tell us a lot about our future and Mick's abilities (and we do not have to be an NCAA team for it to be a success)

He’s probably talking about me…I’ve made plenty of comments on here that 3 years is enough time to get back to a winning record (see Baylor as an example – they also had a TERRIBLE situation but they went dancing in year 3). I have softened my stance somewhat because others have made some great points…but if we have a 14-16 record this BB season, I doubt I will be the only one questioning if Coach Cronin really is a great “gameday coach.” I think this issue will all be water under the bridge because I think we win 17 or 18 games this season. Main point of my original argument is you cannot have 3 losing seasons in a row with attendance dropping every year at a MAJOR basketball school. If we settle for that, we aren’t the Bearcat Basketball team our fans deserve.

Actually, I agree with your statement.

To reiterate, Mick has shown he can recruit. We have a good solid roster, yet inexperienced. The improvement this team makes this year will give us more of a gauge of Mick's coaching abilities.

I saw the team fall off the last 7 games of last year, but I think that was more a case of the other Big East teams reaching their full potential versus UC having already reached it's low ceiling (with Adam and the JUCO's). The ceiling is much higher this year.

I did see Mick outcoach some name coaches last year too. So I've seen both success from his coaching and some failures, but I'm not sure it wasn't more a lack of talent when they failed. Not many coaches could have pushed last year's team to beat the top 6 or 8 teams in the Big East. Yet he did a few times. This year we will find out.

Rick rolling's time has passed. Come up with something new.
