One of your irritants about DeKalb/NIU is about finished-the painting of the RR bridge on Annie Glidden. Actually, the expanded Annie Glidden looks much better.

I am very pleased with how much better Anne Glidden looks from I-88 to campus - except now for that rusty and crumbled looking RR underpass AND the damn ILLINI TIRE facing every motorist entering NIU.

For me it reinforces the second class persona of NIU.

I thought the signs along Glidden read : Welcome to Huskie Country.

If I cannot hope to see the business move elsewhere or change owners or name in my lifetime , then perhaps we can pool funds and open Northern Illinois Tire with R&B signage across the street from Memorial Stadium in SHAMBANA.

Oh yea, I know it's childish and petty but somethings simply stick in cybers' craw.

Glad to find you back in action here despite our past disagreements. Are you suggesting the bridge is currently & really undergoing a cleanup & painting or are you messin with my fragile mind?

The gateway to NIU is finally getting for real. Now if only there was a large digital sign with the events of the day to welcome visitors, parents and others to NIU somewhere past Bakers Square.

JOIN THE DIGITAL AGE , NIU , AND REMOVE & REPLACE THE ANTIQUATED FOOTBALL SCHEDULE AT THE S.E. CORNER OF GLIDDEN AND LOCUST NEAR EVANS.

Sounds as if a class gift to purchase and install a digital welcome/informational board is in order.

A name change from Illini Tire to Huskie Tire would be welcomed. I would donate to the cause.

Yep. They are painting it. It is almost done from what I can tell.
