For the 1st time since I graduated high school (1993), I wont be giving a rat's a$$ about the baseball playoffs. No Yankees = not really the playoffs as far as Im concerned. I just hope the Steinbrenners spend a whoooooole bunch of $$$ to fix it. Now I remember what the 80's were like being a NYY fan.
You are a yankees fan and a cowboys fan, enough said.
These are days when I know there is a God. Enjoy watching the MEts.
They will have plenty of $ to do it, asking people to pay through the nose for tickets in the new stadium next year. One story on the radio last week had 4 good season tickets going from $81,000 to $810,000...who knows if that's accurate, but that means the good seats will be corporate. Sound familiar??
I'd also never drink a beer called Ghost River. What does being a Cowboys fan have to do with anything?

I hate the Yankees
It's like me saying I'm a Duke fan and a USC fan.

OOOOOOh beer smack, nice!
Never cared for baseball. Grew up in Chicago so of course I watched Cubs and White Sox. But its just not my sport. However I love the Cowboys!

If all I had to watch was the White Sox and the Cubs I'd probably hate baseball too
Moved to the NYC 4 years ago. Love the city and its people... except the wall street punks and the yankees' fans. I have never met a more self-satisfied bunch of (insert choice expletive here).

Having said this, it is never fun to see your team out of the playoffs, and I would never wish a bad October on a fellow Tigers fan.

My advice, find a cinderella story and support it. Nothing beats watching the ugly stepsister beat the big bad bully... Think about, we are Memphis Tigers fans after all... we like to have a chip on our shoulder...
Screw the Yankees. Go Cubs!
Dont care about cinderellas. This was an incredible 13 yr run (2nd only to ATL who did nothing in their 14 yrs). I'll take a break and get back into watching the playoffs next season.

Not to be too much of a smart aleck, but it might be a longer break than you think. The rotation will be a mess for awhile...

That's gonna be hard for them to do. Everyone knows the Steinbrenners are notorious for their stinginess. Maybe they can buy a gay second baseman to go with their gay third baseman and gay shortstop.
No way that happens. This team (as bad as they have been) would have made it had Wang and Posada stayed healthy. Too much talent and too much money to spend this offseason (Giambi + Pavano off the books = a big run at CC). Not to mention Abreu, Pettite and Moose could come off the books if the Yanks want them to. That happens and they could sign Sheets and AJ Burnett or Texiera. The Yanks front office wont let them become the Braves.

While it may not this year--- historically it certainly does. Many people who hate the Yankees realize their historical significance.

The Yankees are far and away the most successful franchise in the history of Sport in America.
I dont care a thing in the world about the lakers, grizz or any NBA team. Horrible league. And yes, baseball does revolve around the Yankees.
