I had a blast on Saturday. Tailgating was fun, beer pong was great with Big Daddy. The game was fun. A few complaints though...

1. Grady should have played that entire game. Every single offensive down he should've been playing. Throwing and running the ball all game would've been good for him.

2. The Red Sea failed. I saw very few of those I heart NIU shirts. Also it seemed like a normal game day dress for most people. A few Hawiian shirts, some Cubs and Sox shirts, the classic fraternities wearing their own colors and not their schools colors. I'm glad they worked so hard on that. Huge waste of time. Maybe a blackout isn't such a bad idea. Especially considering we have no problem ripping off traditions from other schools I don't know why a tradition at MANY schools is a bad idea. Great work Cindy (btw still waiting for a response to my very polite email I sent two weeks ago, there's the dedication that they tell me about right). For the record I wore black, it felt good to rebel.

3. I never want a band in the tailgating lot again. First off they sucked. They were not good, they did not "rip it". Especially compared to Umphree's or moe. or Phish. They made HMM turn his music down, and while I usually do not like the music he plays, I think it's crap they changed something that he has been doing for years. The few humerus parts of that band were the one guy saying, "Comon brah, don't be an *******, we can pump that up so loud it would drown you out." He actually called HMM "brah." Classic frat guy jam band. Second, was when HMM burned the shirts they tried to bribe him with. They really ruined the atmosphere.
I didn't mind the band. I did mind that they played way way too long. I also minded that they drowned out the marching band when they came past.
1. Huskie mascot dog gained weight in the offseason.
Need to put him on a conditioning program.

2. Announcer has to be quicker with the games/announcements during timeouts.

3. Can we ever make it through the first game without any technical problems.
You only had 10 months to make sure they work.

4. Anderson,Davis and McCarthy in the Doghouse??
McCarthy playing in the 4th quarter really surprised me.

I was very annoyed by this. The guys doing the scoreboard messed up the starting lineups too. They get a pass since it was the home opener.. hopefully everything is fixed for the Miami OH game.

Oh the humanity!!!
i had a good time
I know one thing...the football speaker system...ain't drowning anyone's music out...well at least the chopped sound coming out of it might...
I MISSED NOT HEARING THE STATS @ HALFTIME nor @ END OF THE GAME.

I MISSED NOT HEARING REPORTS ON SCORES OF OTHER GAMES - including not reporting scores of MAC teams.

I MISSED SEEING DIESEL THE ENTIRE FIRST HALF.

I LIKE WHAT APPEARS TO BE NEW UNNIES FOR CHEERLEADERS. YES, I SAID UNNIES NOT UNDIES.

THE HOT POTATO GIG DID NOT WORK SO WELL.

What about chance for prizes kicking a FG ?

Some free T's should be thrown by cheerleaders in wells for those seated beyond first 20 rows.

LUV firing of the canon.

It seemed like our D was rotating all our LBs and DTs at the same time. Kind of like a committee system that split time.

Yeah our audio always has been really bad in our stadium. And we need a new scoreboard.

Soldier Field here we come...05-stirthepot
I wish the t shirts would be thrown to the students, I also missed doing the Justin and Ryne show before the game on 1360 WLBK.
Brigham Field looks like it's in really bad shape. You can see the black rubber under the grass fairly clearly, particuarly around the middle of the field. Nice that they repainted the endzones, but the field really does need to be replaced.

It's because of the lack of the Indoor Practice Facility, all of our practices have to take place inside the Stadium, which is going to rough up our turf quite a bit.
I think the Huskie Mobile and Huskie Bus will be wired together for sound at the next home game. Nobody else will dare try to compete with that. 04-rock

I enjoyed playing Death Magnetic and The Way of the Fist! 02-13-banana
The playing surface is in poor condition. I would assume this is the final year on the Fieldturf before it is redone. Again, this is one of those things that costs big money. Which is yet another reason why playing the Wisconsin game at Soldier Field makes good economic sense for the program.
I had a blast for my first time tailgating! Drank some, had some brats and burgers and offered the band some beer, it's a bit of a band joke. It was a little warm for the Silicon Valley Bowl vest, but the whole day was amazing!

But, how were the pork chops?

I saw very few of the "I heart NIU" shirts. There's a reason for that. They were stupid looking and no cheaper than any other of the hundred nicer looking shirts available.

I'm almost sure that the field is to be replaced after this season. I talked to Compher about it during two-a-days.

The students need to learn how to use those big white things called "garbage cans". It was really pretty disgraceful after the game.

As far as the band goes, what don't kill ya make ya more strong.
I second the notion about all the litter. Disgusting. Have some pride in your university and use a trash can.
I agree with the garbage after the game. That was gross walking back to my car through the east lot. I was pretty impressed that the place where the Huskie Mobile was set up and the place where the band was set up with NNHS's frat were tailgating were very clean. Everyone should clean up like them. The pork chops were good Cawoo.
I totally agree about the trash. This was my first year parking as a donor in the Huskie lot next to the students. When we were leaving we noticed all the trash and commented how the Alumni picked up after themselves and the students trashed the lot.

As for the band that was set up in the student lot, we couldn't hear them over the obnoxious frat sound systems. I'm surprised to hear they told HMM to turn down his music. They should have told the frats to do the same.
