Final score 42 to 20 over Indiana!
Yeah, way to represent the MAC! That was a great win. Ball State has a chance to run the table this year and, except for their game with NIU, I hope they do.
Sadly, Ball State won't have a signature win this year. This is the closest they'll come all year to that. Would they even get BCS consideration if they went 13-0? I think they're pretty darn good, but who knows. They're not going to play anyone.
Congrats to ball state but like people have mentioned, dont read too much into this, ball state is good but we will see just how good in MAC play. Judging them against most Big 10 teams this year doesnt really give a good indication of how good they are, the Big 10 is horrific, just no other way to say it.

Meanwhile...Toledo is trying to knock off a top 25 team at home tonight, they are down 3 in the 4th qtr (ESPNU).

Who else mentioned that?? Everyone realizes this was a big win for Ball State and the MAC.

If the Big Ten is so horrible, what does that make the MAC considering they were 1-3 against the B10 today and 1-9 on the season? Your "logic" makes no sense... "we will see just how good they are in MAC play".. HUH?????

You need to recognize a good thing when you see it.. Anytime a MAC school beats a BCS conference team that's a good thing!
wow rockets down 3 and toledo recovers onside kick with 3 mins left.
Would it be mean to say that Bill Lynch wasn't very good at beating MAC teams when he coached in the MAC?

No, it would be accurate. I don't think he is the long-term answer at Indiana. They fired the only coach who ever won there (Mallory).

Hoeppner had them going the right direction but I don't think Lynch will keep it going in that direction or will get enough talent and depth there to win with any degree of consistency. Maybe he will, I just don't think so. I was surprised when they hired him for good.

And congrats to Ball State, they were clearly the better team and it showed on the scoreboard. Very nice win for their program.

Huh? The Big 10 is down, but most will perceive BSU's win last night as it's best. They'll get more credit for beating Indiana soundly in Bloomington than any MAC game. Again though, I'm not sure that's enough of a sexy win even if they run the table to make the BCS.
Ball State's first ever BCS win.
Good win for Ball State, but they won't make it out of MAC play undefeated. Remember, there's a familiarity factor that goes along with playing in conference. One of the MAC teams will figure out Ball State's offense and shut it down this season. Hopefully that team will be NIU.
Who would have ever thought though that a win vs a BCS team would be a substantially less impressive feat than beating almost any other team in the MAC West. Says a great deal about the health of the MAC right now.

The MAC is pretty deep right now. The bottom of the league has gotten significantly better, although if DiMichele is hurt for any length of time Temple is in deep trouble.

Indiana was picked 10th/11th in the Big Ten by most people and Ball State made relatively easy work of them. That's what good teams do and they were very impressive last night.
