At my bank today trading in some Peso's for Dollars and my account manager 'suggested' I come in and talk to their invesment advisor. Sounded odd, all I have with them outside of my checking account is an interest bearing account that I deposited $ 100,000.00 into a few years ago to provide me with a monthly stipend for a responsibility I inherited.

My account manager informed me the account is only worth $ 78,000.00 now. That was a bit of a surprise-I was aware the principle fluctuated up and down but last time I checked-a month ago or so-it was around $ 95,000.00.

I'll talk with them of course, but it was rather surprising they proactively approached me to discuss the matter. Kind of unnerving since they usually warn you pulling your money out of those kind of accounts is not a good idea. Could it be...... 04-jawdrop
Man I'm sorry. That's really gotta sting.

I had a line of credit for my consulting business, just got the note today that they shut it down. No reason, I never tapped it....unreal.
Send lawyers, guns, and money.
FWIW, Interesting quotes, although I never heard of the website the contents and and the quotes w/references seem to be interesting.

Next line please.....cause it's appropo.

You're right conrock, those quotes and references tell a story. This guy is more of the same, but he runs as such a change guy. Face it, there is only one thing different about him......and that and a quarter will get you a cup of coffee.

Of course, since your account took a "slight" $22,000 adjustment, they will not charge you for using the ATM more than 3 times each month! GD Banks are nickel and diming everyone to death, while they are paying out a princely 0.75% interest on a savings account and refusing a loan to anyone who needs money and flooding my mail box with offers to get their credit card and loans I don't want. 01-lauramac2 Priceless.

Sorry about your losses, BP. FWIW, I got a message on my cell phone from my financial advisor at UBS, who I haven't heard from in months. After reading your post I am afraid to call back to find out what has happened. Makes me wonder if all of the financial institutions aren't playing the CYA game??

Hey folks, not trying to solicit sympathy. I'm a big boy and it's only paper losses until you take it out. The folks to sympathize with are the ones watching their homes washed out into the Gulf of Mexico from Hurricane Ike. This is just a road bump in the game of life.

Was only trying to point out this liquidity crisis is reaching all of us.

Its been to the point that you choose the lesser evil and has been for quite some time.

They need to have the politicians run to do the job and not what they can solicit from it. First thing I'd do is eliminate the lobbyist and ALL outside interest groups.
