Broncos 51 Vandals 21, 4th quarter with 7 minutes to go.

After a shaky and sluggish first half (it was tied 14-14 just after halftime), the Broncos offense lit it up in the second half. The last TD was a 41-yard run by our backup QB.
I would have been surprised if WMU didn't kick arse in the Kibbie Dome. Good win for the MAC.
Broncos win 51-28!

On the upside, the offense played well throughout, especially in the third quarter. Hiller is playing better/smarter than he did at this point last year, and we have a solid pass and run playcalling mix.

However - The defense looked shaky throughout the game. And Idaho recovered 2 onside kicks (one was surprise, one we knew was coming).

Traveling across the country and playing in that strange little dome, in the different altitude no less, would probably mess with any team east of the Mississippi a little bit. But the 'D' will need to work out its kinks against Div 1-AA Tenn Tech next week before we head into the core MAC schedule.

Still, a win is a win, no matter where or how, and a reason for celebration. 04-cheers
"Playing in the different altitude would probably mess with any team east of the Mississippi."

Having lived in Moscow, Idaho, its elevation is only 2,569 feet. It has zero impact on flatlanders.

On the other hand, altitude would be a good alibi for WMU's ineptitude playing Central in Mount Pleasant; elevation 9,240".

Oh boy the chimps are really in mid season form , eeking out wins against MAC bottom feeders and throwing out cheap jokes in hopes nobody notices their awful defense. It will be nice when someone (in the conference) dispatches of these opportunistic and mediocre "champions."

Thats a pretty high $hit hole.01-rivals

This coming from a graduate of a school located in a town that needs to bribe their residents with a free college education for their children in order to keep them from leaving for a decent community...
It's true, giving a free college education to anyone is the stupidest thing I ever heard of. Everyone in Michigan knows you don't need a college degree to get a good job anymore. Those days are over.

Speaking of promises, how is the CMU promise doing? That thing will be around forever...
I'm sorry did some chimp just bad mouth a program that provides free college tuition?

To clarify, the givers are local private, wealthy anonymous donors (though likely of pharmaceutical giants). The "town", meaning the city government, did not create the program.
Even if it did what would be wrong with giving kids the opportunity to get a college education? If you could find a city with the resources to provide such a program to its citizens it would probably be a pretty great place to live.

There is no stigma attached to this program. It has been universaly hailed as a great thing. What this chimp dummy is missing the boat on is that its for in-state tuition. There are probably a few Kzoo promise students at CMU (those who never saw it before enrollment). Its a win win for the community, the state, and for state universities. ABSOLUTELY NO NEGATIVES ASSOCIATED WITH THE KALAMAZOO PROMISE. NONE WHATSOEVER!
To clarify I never said that the program itself is a bad thing. As you've pointed out, giving a free education to kids is a good thing. The point was that K-Zoo isn't exactly a desirable place to live. The K-Zoo promise has two sides, the first is a generous gift of a free education to kids. That is by all means a great thing. The second is the byproduct of the program which is to try to lure and retain residents to an area has difficulty doing so. Again not a bad thing, but an indicator of the current status of the community. It doesn't make the program a bad thing, but if you're going to try to call another area a sh*thole you might want to make sure you aren't laying your head down in a pile of dung yourself.

As a side note, I have heard some stories about the K-Zoo Promise. I don't know how much truth there is but I have had people tell me about kids that enrolled in school but then drop out because the promise doesn't cover books. Heaven forbid you have to shell out a couple hundred bucks a year for an education that otherwise would cost you thousands. I don't know if there is any truth to this but if there is that's pretty sad and just goes to show you can give some people all the opportunity in the world and they still won't take advantage of it. Some of you may be able to provide more insight to this as you either live or lived in the area.
If the Kalamazoo government was sponsoring the program, city taxes would likely skyrocket, which ultimately would make it more difficult to attract people - especially childless couples - to stay (or move into) the city.
I realize the city isn't sponsoring it, but if the ONLY point was to provide free educations, why would they limit it to only KPS students? Why not just start scholarship funds at various universities? The point is to improve the K-Zoo community which isn't a bad thing either, but the point is that it's not exactly a desirable place to live for most people and it needs to be improved to be attractive. Also assuming it is the Strykers, they also have a vested interest in improving the community in order to create a more desirable place to live for their employees which helps them recruit and retain better talent. Again, a good thing to do. I'm just pointing out that Kalamazoo hasn't exactly been on the best places to live in America list recently so to call Mt. Pleasant a sh*thole kind of makes one a hypocrite.
Now I know how Mrs. O'Leary must have felt.
