14 home games. Interesting to put ULL in the middle of conference season. Also, we could potentially play Florida Atlantic twice.

I'm looking forward to the start of the season and especially going to the Louisville and Butler games.
OK, I've compiled the men's and women's basketball schedules onto a single calendar to which everyone can subscribe (it also includes football). We have two double-headers with the women: Dec. 3 (men vs. UCF and women vs. Florida) and Dec. 20 (men vs. Troy, women vs. Georgia).

You can subscribe to the calendar at:

On a personal note, I think our home schedule is the weakest, worst home schedule I've ever seen.
There have been some weak ones before but this ranks up there. No excuse not to have 24+ wins.
The home schedule reeks. Road games are Ford-tough.
I only count 13 home games minus the potential NIT games.

8 conference games and five non conference.

Also, we potentially don't see the team play in person until 12/3 and then you have to wait two weeks after that. Season ticket sales are going to go down drastically. As was mentioned earlier, it is not worth what you have to pay.

Our attendance problems will not be solved this year.

I disagree. I don't think season ticket sales are affected to greatly by the schedule. Casual fans yes, season tickets very little.

I think with Vaden and PD3 and the rest of the gang providing some excitement early on, people will remember some great games from last year and attendance will be fine. Casual fans don't know if Savannah State, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Lafayette is better/worse than Stetson, Eastern Kentucky and Jacksonville (who we played last year). Hell I would just be guessing. I know the schools, know most of what conferences they are in, but I could tell you of the six, who is supposed to be good currently. I know LaLa has had past success and played us very close in a NIT game at Bartow, Andersons first year (great game, I was there), but besides that they all are about the same with no real NAME recognition.

I think some of the doom and gloom from football is warping our fans sense of reality. You should be looking forward to basketball.

One thing I find interesting is that all the home Saturday games are at 2pm. I am not sure I really like that, but we will see.
Remember this?

It's so much easier said than done.

Well, last year he did get us a game with two top ten teams one of which was the #1 team. Or at least the conference did.

Memphis and uhhh Memphis.

Way to go coach Davis!!!! 01-wingedeagle

What you forget is that many season tickets were forced to make increased donations for their season ticket and the product we are paying more for is worse than it has been in years. Because of the economy, I was forced to reduce my season ticket package from two seats to one in order to afford the "donation". Now with only 13 home games, I am wondering if I should even bother with the season tickets and just eat the "donation". I can't make all the games anyway. I is cheaper to just do a flex pack or buy them at the door.

I would feel better about buying the tickets to support the school and all that rah rah crap, but I don't see any reciprocracy. Unlike many, I go to see the Blazers not the opponent. I would rather have a few more cupcakes on the schedule than just have five stinking OOC games at home.

True.

Also True.

How many of these road games will be on TV?

More fodder for Finebaum.

Afternoon games Always draw less than Night Games. This is the biggest mistake of all.

The only thing on this schedule that is grade A is Thursday, February 26 - Memphis

People will look at this schedule and just say "Give me a pair for Memphis."
This schedule is so bad that the more I think about it I've decided that with every Memphis ticket purchased UAB should throw in a season ticket package. Of course the only way this works financially is if the Memphis ticket is $120 a pop. (Just how much are Season Tickets this year? I haven't looked at my invoice yet.)

If Matt can sell Football tickets and Basketball tickets this year (bad economy, bad schedules, etc.) then he can sell ice to an Eskimo and should be named salesman of the year in college athletics. I feel bad for the guy.
Only good thing about me buying my season tickets early is that I am locked in for next season.
I miscounted - there are 14 home games, one less than last year.
Season tickets are $215 plus whatever donation is required.

215 divided by 14 = $15.36 per game.
General Admission tickets are $12 or $15, I forget. You can generally sit whereever you want with a GA ticket as long as you don't get greedy and as Mr. Bartow always said "there's not a bad seat in the house"

Seems like an easy decision for a person who is having to watch his funds and can't make all the games anyway.
no kidding.. crappy schedule..
Of course, if some other CUSA teams step up...
it blows. we better go undefeated so i feel better about the craptastic schedule.
So far OOC road games on TV would be:
All of NIT
Louisville on ESPN2
Cinci ESPNU/CBSC( I'm guessing on this one, but contract has a stipulation that the game must be on national television)
I would think Butler would get picked up by somebody.
and in going undefeated at home in that bush league schedule we better have an average margin of victory of like 20 points...per half.
