Some of you will be happy to know that I sometime ago I decided that after my negativism last year, it would not be appropriate for me make any comments on this board about UAB football until after the season and after recruiting for this year has been completed, if then. All I will say about this season is "Go Blazers!!!". I am sure that this football season will play out as it will without my comments and I am fairly sure that not many on this board want to hear from me on that subject anyway. Rest assured, however, that I did make my contribution for this year which enables to sit in the club level (though I usually move down to seats below to watch the game) and I plan to make all of the remaining home games. More than anything else I am again looking forward to basketball season.
CB, I am glad to see that you're not commenting on the dreaded anti-fungal "Footall" powder, but what about FootBall? 03-melodramatic

Seriously, I respect you very much for this. 04-cheers
Cajun, stop by before Alabama state and tailgate with us!

Thanks Matt, I will take you up on that offer if I can. If I can't make it, drink one for me.

Good post. +1
By posting a comment about not commenting, aren't you actually commenting.

Oh the irony...

Cajun Blazer's post sounded like my daughter announcing to us that she is being quiet and not talking like she promised until the baby wakes up.

I was just thinking that when I was rereading this thread. I guess the better route would have not commented at all until the end of the season and then bring it up that he stuck to his word. He sounded like my daughter announcing to us that she is being quiet and not talking like she promised until the baby wakes up.
On a more positive note, I think it's more of an olive branch to the other posters, than his saying, "I'm not going to say it, but I'm saying it." We all know his feelings, for he's stated them multiple times in the past, and on more than just this board. He knows that, too. Perhaps, I'm looking through rose-colored glasses, but I like to think he's stating his point but also trying to be decent about it. In an olive branch, let loose the doves, kinda way...
Until the end of a season where we go 2 and 10, when a thread titled, "Callaway, GO AWAY" surfaces, at which point multiple "I told you so" posters will be loud and proud, all typing in ALL CAPS, that "WE TOLD YOU SO!!!"

you know, i wish they'd do that instead of trying to be coy about it. but then, i guess there's no fun in that, is there? 03-banghead
Aren[t all of you ready to win some more big time games?

I for one, am tired of looking back to the LSU game & seeing highlights replayed over and over again.

Sure it was a great victory, but what have we really done since then?

It is time to beat a ranked team again and head in is positive direction.

I think that we can do that with CNC.

This would be a good weekend to start.

Based on what? At least Watson kept the UGA, UT, MSU games close, and even won a few of them.

What has NC done except get embarrassed week after week?
we beat tulane and alcorn state but the future look good ,?????
,it is all about the future
By example in basketball ,we made the nit last year and we didn't even make the nit the year before and nobody want to fired the bb coach or question the direction of the team
You get a +1 from me, NF. Watson also averaged 5+ wins through 11 Div. 1-A seasons. Yet all we hear about is "Zero," and the "Brown Stain."

It took Watson Brown 22 games as a Divison 1-A head coach to get to 10 wins. It might take Coach Callaway 40 or 50 games to get there. Or, he could win 8 games this year and tie Watson's mark. But, I digress.

I'm not bashing either of the administrations. They are alike and different in many regards. Many of us forget about what a miracle--and a LUXURY even, that FBS-level football is for our university. Blazer football has suffered many hardships; from Black Friday, to Britneygate, to most recently BOT cockblockery. Through it all, our team remains. Regardless of who the coach is, or how bad our defense is, or how bad Legion Field hotdogs taste, we are STILL HERE, and much to the chigrin of Finebaum, local media, and idiotic state citizens who have never so much as TAKEN A CLASS AT THEIR UNIVERSITY OF CHOICE, we aren't going anywhere.

That being said, let's go beat the orange off of Fat Phil. Hell, somebody's gonna get their first win on Saturday. And by God, we're due. But even if we lose on Saturday, my pasty ass is still gonna be at Legion Field next Saturday.

Because that's what fans do.

I have always said that the closest to a college credit many of the fans of Redneck U have gotten is the 2 hrs they got for auto shop at "Insert name here" community college. But, "Rooooooll TAAAAAHHDDDDDD" still rolls off of their lips, by Gawd...
