Where on the page does it indicate a near sellout?
Now that you mention it, I don't see anything on the site that even mentions ticket sales for the Central Michigan game.

Airport?
I'm considering going to Athens for this game, so I'll call the Ohio ticket office tomorrow to find out.

If you can't get them at the ticket office, there could be scalpers at Peden. 04-jawdrop

Guess it could be a tough ticket. 03-lmfao

Oh, the irony of an Eastern fan commenting on ticket sales.

That was a good one. It could be a solid matchup.
I saw a scalper at Peden once. Then I had to go home and change my pants. Personally I hope it happens again (the scalpers, not the pants issue).
Kit Cat, can we get an update on the sellout?
The Who sold out...but that was someting like 40 years ago...
There is zero chance of a sellout. Maybe 20k.
Agree. Chance of rain Saturday + All Day Drinking for OSU/USC = less than 20k at Peden
Confirmed: no sellout. 03-melodramatic Per a very helpful gentleman at Ohio U's ticket office, there are "unfortunately" plenty of tickets left at $20 per. This info is as of 4PM today.

On a related note, the chances of a CMichFan appearance in Peden have been downgraded to 40% due to unexpected car repairs. 03-banghead

Use the Airport

20k pretty much is a sell out in Peden.
Except 20k is 80% of Peden's capacity.
Gooch Wrote:Except 20k is 80% of Peden's capacity.

Peden only has 22,000 bleachers, if that.

The remaining capacity is a rough estimate of victory hill which is actually conservative.

That is why when you have 20k in there it looks pretty much full.
I believe that the actually bleachers/seats are 24,500.
Gooch Wrote:I believe that the actually bleachers/seats are 24,500.

That is not correct.

I can prove it in several ways.

1. The prior capacity of Peden before the 2001 renovation was 20,000 seats. Our largest crowd was Buffalo with 23,000 standing room only.

Quote:In 2001, a $2.8 million project removed the track, lowered the playing surface and increased the capacity to 24,000. Approximately 2,000 lower-level, bleacherback seats - called the Phillips Club - were added to bring fans closer to the action. Landscaping enhancements created seating for the Marching 110 at the north end zone and Victory Hill, a grass berm for overflow seating, at the south end of the field.

What was added to the stadium's 20,000 seat capacity was approximately 2,000 seats+hill.

2. Ohio sold 3,000 plus tickets to victory hill for the Pitt game.

Quote:Tickets for the Ohio football team's home opener versus Pittsburgh on Friday are going fast, but there are still selected seats available. The original student allotment of 5,000 tickets was sold out, and an additional 2,000 Victory Hill seats that were provided for students sold out as well.

Pockets of reserved seats are still available for the price of $15 each. A group of 1,000 Victory Hill seats will be sold to the general public at $10 each when the reserved tickets are sold out.

The hill was not at 100% standing room only capacity either.

3. The stadium is:

21,800 bleachers
3,000+ over flow seating, perhaps even as high as 5,000.

I have counted it before.

You have way to much time on your hands.
