I see they added a 5'11" guard to the roster from waubonsee valley. He averaged 12 points and 3 assitst a game.
Isn't his name Justin Peaster?

I only ask because the Peaster from WVHS that I recall ever seeing in the paper was named Justin. He put up some decent numbers and was one of WVHS's best players.

Then again if it really is Michael I have no idea who he is. Far be it from me to say the NIU website has something wrong.
like the bulls we need more guards like Phelps needs medals.

I disagree completely. The majority of MAC forwards and centers (if there even are any legitimate ones) arent' very good. Also, don't get hung up with the traditional court model of a center, power forward, small forward, shooting guard and point guard. You can win in this league with a predominance of guys 6'5" and under. So long as those "guard types" are gifted athletes. If you examine Ricardo Patton's recruiting to date he has been successful in netting quality athletic types. You can win in the MAC with four guard types on the court. Big time in fact.

I agree you can win with a Guard Dominated line up but when you play a 4 guard line up

1. You need that one dominating 6’7 – 6’8 athletic Post player and right now I don’t think any of our post players are very athletic. NIU roster is made of is a bunch of Tweeners (Storm, Smith, Ervin, Fuk, and Lee) and big stiffs (Kwoel, and Ante) .
2. You need 6’4 and 6’5 guards all of the 7 guards on the roster are under 6’2”. The only 6’5” guard on the team can’t play this year.
3. You need players that can hit threes and Anderson, Landers shot under 25% from the three
4. You need a great PG and the Best PG on the team is Patton and he didn’t do very good at the point last year as Nichols and Anderson ran the point most of the time last year. Next best option is a freshman that played a 2 guard at 5’11”. Or you can go with the 5’3” kid
