That was our average attendance this season. That's nearly double of what it was in the season prior to Coach Anderson taking over.

Let's hope that it continues to grow so we can keep CMA and his staff at UAB for a very long time.
Nevermind ...answered my own question...looks like average attendance in Murry's last year was 3,624
It's listed as 3,927 which seems a bit high.

Okay, so maybe it's not double but it's a very nice improvement but there's still a lot of work to do.

The NCAA numbers for 2002 showed 3,624
I thought it was 3,200 but obviously I was wrong.

I hope our season ticket sales go up again. We need more and more people to purchase season tickets.
Yeah, but of that 3,927 at least a third came disguised at empty seats.
6,949 average for conference play at home and 6,037 overall are both good numbers. I like progress.

I went to every game that year, we didn't average anywhere near 3,900.
That's what I was thinking. I remember myself and my roommates being 5 of probably 20 students in attendance and that's no exaggeration. The student section was literally EMPTY.

Yea, it was...

I remember coming to one of UAB's games my senior year and thinking, "Where the hell are all the students?"...
During a conference game that year, I looked across the arena and saw a friend. We were both sitting in the upper level directly across from each other. I stood up during the game and yelled at him, and he heard me.

Sad times, glad they are gone, hopefully for good.
According to Sax's year-long attendance updates, our average attendance was 6,049 instead of 6,037... not sure which is right, but of course, it's a minor thing.

He already pointed that out to me in an IM titled "Genius"

I was going off the official stats from UABsports.com

You have to remember....that's tickets sold....not actual people in the building.
