...or however you spell his name. I think I saw him at the game. Not positive, though. If it was Tony, I hope it was good for him.

A little more Blazer love on the airways and a reduction in negative nuance would be nice.
...can S my D! This arsehole said the following on the Opening Shat:

"UAB--I mean you have to wonder if they should be shutting the program down. I mean, even Miami-Ohio got Vanderbilt to come to their stadium. I don't ever see UAB being able to do that."

Don't think that was him. He had some serous beer drinking to do before the Turd game.

Kurre said on the air to Karle Friday that he heard UAB may have to shut it's program down. WHY the FLUCK would you pull that comment out of your arse the day before UAB's home opener and get a negative conversation started on UAB so the other boneheads can "Pile On"??????

Kurre can take his Blazer Bone and shove it up his rectum. He is no friend of UAB and the next time he calls himself Blazer Bone someone needs to ask him when was the last YEAR he attended a UAB sporting event.

I guess he is uninformed that UAB has gotten Virginia Tech, Mississippi State and Pittsburgh to play in our stadium. Much more impressive than Vanderbilt.
Current BCS Teams that have played UAB at Legion Field

Kansas
Baylor
Virginia Tech
Pitt
Mississippi State
UC *
Louisville *
South Florida *

* (member of C-USA at the time)

Future Schedules

Mississippi State will return
Ole Miss

I dare say all of them are more impressive than Vandy.........
The concern is not that Tony or anyone else made the comments. The concern should be that no one from UAB will call in and take them to task on it. Oh yeah, you'll shoot emails to voice your complaints. My bad.
Calling into a radio show is blowing hot air and not going to change anythings. Sending emails is not going to change anything. Building a fan base strong enough to challenge the advertisers of his shows is what will gain respect.
HD the problem is that most UAB fans refuse to listen any more. They have driven most of them away. I listen on occasion or when I know someone from UAB will be interviewed. I have bought Sirius radio and love it.

Hey, if someone besides you or I would call in that would be great but no one will. Even I don't call in much any more because......well, I'm listening to Margaritaville Radio, The Blue Color Comedy channel, or Raw Dog.

JOX & WSPZ have given UAB fans no reason to listen to sports talk radio.

Never thought I would say this but I miss Herb & Ben.
It does not help when local radio is spewing negative info that 90% of it is made up and they are piling on. Some cases even encouraging people not to attend UAB events. I mean when a host says "Only an idiot would spend money on UAB football", how else can you take it? It's hard to build your fan base when the local media piles on and trashes your program.

But someone is listening otherwise how do we know what is said about UAB on the radio? I wouldn't even include WSPZ since they have dramatically changed their format now.

I have my own opinions about UAB Football but I dare not share them on this board. I just think Watson left this program on life support and CNC is going to have a difficult time trying to get it off.
Football programs that are shutting their doors don't invest millions in facilities like UAB is doing. IF UAB football fails it will be from within when we stop caring and trying to grow the program. The future looks pretty bright to me but that's just me.
I saw Kurre at a basketball game last year with his son. He did have a UAB shirt on but it was about 3 sizes too small.
The other day I turned it on as they were talking to someone on the phone who was present at a UAB practice session. He started it off by asking them(I can't remember who it was because I immediately changed the station after) how the flamers were looking in practice.
