In a development sure to please Coach Cal, Dunkin' Donuts plans to open its first store in December. Yum!

I have never thought about it, but I find it surprising that there's no Dunkin' Donuts in Memphis. I guess being an east coaster, I always assumed there was one there somewhere.

They disappeared from Nashville also for a couple of years. The downtown store had serious quality control problems with cleanliness, stale doughnuts, and out of stock items. I hope a DD re-opens in downtown Nashville because I like their coffee.

It is probably blasphemy, but I prefer Dunkin Donuts to Krispy Creme.
Jackson, TN has at least one. They have a pretty good donut.
There were plenty of dunkin donuts stores in Memphis in the 70's. They all closed.
we always bring some back from Dallas, and now when we're leaving Memphis they're coming back.

At least now we know what the problem was. 04-chairshot

I graduated from Memphis State in 1989. Maybe they were there then. I don't have any particular memories of DD. Now Krystal, Central Park, Perkins, Circle K and Buster's, that's another story.

I remember waiting in line early in the morning outside the ticket office to be one of the first to buy season tix for Cal's first season. He showed up with donuts for everyone in line. He took pictures with all of us on the steps and passed out the donuts. When he was done, he goes to get back in his Grand Cherokee (if my memory serves me right) and the door is locked. The car was still running too. Campus police had to slim jim his car door to let him back in. He was so embarrassed.
