Memphis 39, UNCC 37. Wouldn't this be interesting if Memphis hangs on??? :loco:
Memphis needs to lose, and they need to lose this evening. I don't want Memphis winning this tournament and stealing an NCAA bid away from UAB.

I really thought UAB was headed to the NIT. I never thought for a second we would win five in a row after losing four in a row. But the BLAZERS did win five in a row, and they should be NCAA Tournament bound.
I think if we beat Louisville, we are in. No doubt about it. If we get blown out, then we will be watching the Blazers play at Bartow Arena in the NIT. 03-puke

I dont think Memphis takes a bid away from us. I think what UAB has done allows us to stand on our own and if we beat Louisville then NOTHING should be able to take our bid away. Memphis might steal a potential bid from a DePaul or something, though. Memphis DOES need to win if you ask me. We actually beat Memphis and if they can work their way into the RPI Top 100, that helps our NCAA tourney resume even further. Not only that, but it's good for NCUSA. Come on Tigers!

I dont think so ...a loss certainly makes us sweat it out more, but I say that with a loss to UL, we'd still have at LEAST a 50-50 shot of making the NCAAs. Dont forget.... a loss to Louisville will NOT hurt our RPI that much.

Are you serious?...if we win the tourney, we get the automatic. It doesn't even affect you.

Jeeesh Heaven forbid we make the dance and help earn a little money for CUSA.
It doesn't affect UAB?

Actually, it does. It would be somewhat like Oakland - a team that isn't getting in otherwise taking a spot. They're still going to take Cincinnati, Charlotte and Louisville. There's no guarantee that they would take five teams from this league this year, and I certainly don't think they would take six.
Memphis now with an 8pt lead 04-rock

No no... Memphis wont make it through all those teams. I'm not for them winning the CUSA tourney. Obviously I'm for UAB winning it, BUT as far as tonight, I'm for Memphis beating Charlotte as it does help our RPI.
is the memphis game on tv?

No... they have a garbage Big XII game on CSS right now :loco:
Yes, I'm serious. Charlotte, Cincy, and UL are locks. If Memphis wins the C-USA Tournament, and the selection committee decides four C-USA teams are enough, then UAB and DePaul are screwed.

However, I think there is a chance five teams will make it to the Big Dance. With UAB's win over DePaul this afternoon, UAB has to be ahead of DePaul in the collective mind of the selection committee.

To simplify things, I want Memphis to go down this evening. Let's go Charlotte!

They do not decide how many teams from a certain conference get in. They wont decide that 4 get in or 5 get in and then make the selections... they decide who is the most qualified. Memphis, first of all, will not win the CUSA tourney. Secondly, the NCAA would NOT take DePaul over UAB. Yall are getting way too upset, way too quickly. We just won a huge game and drastically increased our chances of getting in. Memphis beating Charlotte helps us. Now they'll need to lose to Cincinnati or UAB/Louisville, but right now... Memphis NEEDS to win.

Sorry we disappointed you

6BC just got KILLED 04-cheers
I believe most posters on this board are happy Memphis won tonight. I still think Memphis is a major threat to take away UAB's NCAA bid.

After your win at Louisville, I thought Memphis would win the conference championship. Memphis tanked it down the stretch. Now that the C-USA Tournament is in Memphis, I think Memphis will win it and take the automatic bid with them. Memphis is on their best roll of the season. Heaven help UAB!

Memphis will lose to Cincinnati I can almost guarantee you. But again... it's up to us to stop Memphis anyway. If Memphis waltzes to the championship and beats Louisville, that's our fault for not getting there and stopping them. Worse yet, if it came to UAB vs Memphis and we lost, that too would be our fault. It's our bid to lose at this point.

85, you pretty much said it all...

Memphis will not make it past Cincy...and the bid is OURS to lose...
I believe Memphis has the talent to win this tournament.

The bid is not ours to lose yet. We are now back on the bubble, after winning five straight games.
