Go MAC
...love that conference "love", bobkittie fans (where's KC to pile on a bit?). Our QB continues to disappoint tonight.....not looking good to pull out a win against the Commodores.
Miami D kept em around in the 2nd half, but Miami's QB play was just terrible, in my opinion.
Mia did not look well coached at all. The penalties were killers. If they are one of our better teams, the MAC is in for another off year. I have a feeling that it may just be off for Mia.

Coaching problems?
Vanderbilt is the worst team in the SEC and Miami was at home. MAC teams are expected to win those games. Miami getting beat by three touchdowns and struggling to score. Its just one game, but Miami's stock dropped a lot after tonite. How can anyone pick them above Buffalo after tonite's results.

Vanderbilt is an SEC school you are playing tonight so I wouldn't necessarily throw the season away after week 1.

I have repeatly picked this preseason Buffalo and Kent State to be the best in the East. Miami backed its way into Detroit last year and is now 8-18 since 2006. I watched them play last year against Ohio with what was called a great defense and watched them give up 31 points in the second half to Ohio.

Then BG lays one of the greatest eggs in the history of MAC football losing 63-7 to a small private school from CUSA.

Yet all the MAC media has BG and Miami 1-2.....

I think its recruiting.

Miami is not taking enough chances at under the radar guys that have panned out big for a lot of MAC schools. The traditional MAC recruits just are not enough anymore.

Miami is locking up commits too early in the process and I think its burning them.

If you think its an off year by Miami well they've been bad for a few years now ever since Shaner took the reigns.

Sadly for Miami, to get back to where they were in the MAC a few years ago is going to require a new coach and a cultural shift toward JUCO's and prep school players that this program is not accustomed to. Miami is accustomed to recruiting the good student to its campus.
I totally disagree on it being recruiting. It definitely is coaching. Montgomery waits too long to make adjustments and pull the trigger. I never see him in anyone's face either. There are plenty of times where it has been warranted over the past few years.

I still expect Miami to be in the hunt, although it will likely be another hot/cold year. Everyone counted them out last year after the opening few games. They can compete. They just need to keep the confidence from disintegrating.

That's because their coach is horrible.

The Miami program is old school MAC where you recruit kids for good grades first and football ability second.

The way things are going Miami is going to switch places with Buffalo's usual place in the standings.
most recent yrs miami has been near the top in mac recruiting rankings. mac schools that have been winning are not loading up on jucos. it looks more like a coaching issue at miami than anything else. they have a qb and wr for example, in belton and givens, that were both among the top mac recruits their yr, and neither is involved in the offense much.

I'm sure you had the same theory early in the season last year, yet Miami was in the MACC.

Buffalo is on the move up, for sure (and so is Temple, btw). Miami is probably going to struggle off and on. Beyond that your analysis is as pathetic and biased as usual. Your envy is off the charts this year, though.

1. I wouldn't put too much stock into MAC recruiting rankings, afterall the top schools are not recruiting 5 star guys.

2. Ohio since Frank Solich has the best conference record in the MAC East and loads up on JUCO's, Prep Players and Transfers every year.

Yeah you made the MACC.

1. You played poorly in the MAC, never a threat to beat Central Michigan.

2. Ohio put a 31 point second half beatdown the week before on Miami and finished with a better overall record too.

3. I don't know that 7 losses has ever been the mark of a good season in college football. 6-7 is losing if you cannot tell.
