Just about everyone in the MAC (now even NIU) runs the spread, so the Huskie D is going to have to get used to it.

NIU "D" has been prepared and defending the spread for several years now. Rememebr JoeN stating years ago the need for NIU to meet the MAC spread challenge and recruiting players more athletic. Perhaps the new coaches have some slightly different approaches , but it's about the O creating mismatches in open spaces and then the need for defenders to know assigments, trust one another and make the plays.
I think the quote by English refers to his transition from HS to college ball where spreads may be more common.
I only observed Me'co last Saturday. He has the ability to make a difference in both great and disasterous ways. His inexperience and desire to make it happen as a true frosh are worrisome. He IS an exciting talent but green.
