I expect the MAC to have one of its best opening weeks ever.

The MAC should be 6-0 after the Thursday and Friday games. The Saturday games will have 6 games on a road/nuetral field which will be harder, but other than Akron playing at a ranked Wisconsin program the MAC has a chance to win those other games. Nebraska and Pittsburgh are not top 25 programs anymore and haven't been for a few years. Boston College, Wyoming and Minnesota are mediocre at best and its not out of reach for a MAC victory in those games. Toledo plays the bye in week 1 and a heavy favorite to go unbeaten in week 1. MAC could put up 8 wins in week 1 which would be a great start to the non-conference slate.

Pitt lost 3 games by 11 points in '07.In 2 of those games, the Panthers had winning TD's called back and in the other they were inside the 10 yd line when the clock ran out.Last year's team had wins over #2 WVU and #23 UCinn.Since Wanny took over,Pitt's recruiting classes have been upgraded(Rival's):

'05 #38
'06 #21
'07 #26
'08 #28

The Panther's lost few lettermen last year and return alot of starters(15).Pitt should be the #1 or #2 defense in the Big East in '08
with Romeus(DT) and McKillop(LB).On offense Pitt is loaded with Kinder(WR),Byham(TE),and McCoy(RB).Pitt will finish about #2 or 3 in the Big East. After the dismal showing against Tulsa, chalk up loss #1 when the BGSU Falcons visit Heinz Field.
