Kill is definitely in a better position than when Joe started.

Definitely, you cant compare the two. Novak started with no talent , Kill is starting with a team that can win the MAC this year. A good position to be in , but alot of early pressure it brings for Kill. However, if anyone can handle that pressure, Kill can.
Why do u think NIU & Kill has the talent to win the MAC and NOT one other source has picked Huskies higher than fourth or fifth in the division?

What do you know they don't?

Blind optimism bordering on purposeful ignorance of the facts is what he knows. However, NIU can finish 7-5 or so if things go well. One that that is not debateable is the program is in far better shape as Kill enters than it was when Novak did, obviously. Hard to go from 2-10 and injury riddled to a league champion with a new coach and without a quarterback as of mid August, but they have the talent to be pretty good.

I like how you say you can't compare the two and then THE NEXT SENTENCE YOU COMPARE THE TWO!!!!!

You are the ultimate optimist I just do not see this happening. I am just not impressed with the depth of talent but who knows.

I really don't think any MAC squad is that great this year. All MAC schools lack depth and tend to have guys who make some pretty darn big mistakes. Anything can happen in the MAC (one or 2 injuries can kill some squads).

Read it again, its a contrast not a compare.

I meant Novak did not have talent to work with intially, Kill has a talented filled and as deep squad as any NIU roster has had in the Novak era and thats including the 2003 roster. And cybes to answer your question we all know the national predictions do not know about the MAC and simply use last year's results to predict this year. That doesnt work for NIU this year, because all of the key losses due to injury are back now. If NIU stays healthy, they are a MAC title contender, to me it is a no-brainer.

You and Nigel are the same. You post the same damn things over and over and over. Most of what you wrote above is BS and we all know it. You have your head in the sand and somehow think that if you keep posting it and posting it and posting it you can verify it more in your mind. Try adding something new and credible to the forums for a change.

Injured people coming back this season. As we all know and have repeated often injuries to key players hurt NIU badly last season. Secondly even with the injuries some of our losses were 7 pts or less. We could be the sleeper team in the MAC this season.
interesting article. certainly it seems like kill is taking over a program that is flying under the radar as far as immediate success in the MAC. i think it could be very easy for kill to use this to his and the team's advantage.

it sure does seem strange that coach novak was 12 games under .500 for his career, considering the success he had from 02-06.
