Sounds like he died from complications related to pneumonia. I'm sure the underlying sarcoidosis didn't help, but still suprising. This should serve as a reminder about the dangers of rampant antibiotic overuse. There's not a whole lot we can do concerning antibiotic-resistant organisms. He probably had MRSA or a pesky strain of Pneumococcus.
