just about to post that.
actually since Georgia is #5 due to player arrests, we are really number 5.

well time to cue MD for this one...
The good news is we play #8 to start the season...the bad news is preseason polls are stupid. 05-nono
well we can't get much worse......Can only improve

set expectations low for the team and be happy at the end of the season
3 MAC teams total if you count the waiting list... oh how I wish it was 2003 again !

I actually kind of like the fact that no one is picking us... I remember for 3 or 4 straight years everyone picked the Huskies to win the MAC.. and that never worked out. I don't know about you guys, but I have a sort of quiet confidence about this year.
I predict NIU's next two wins will be upsets.
The good news in Minnesota is in it too. Can you say pillow fight?
Minnesota has a lot riding on beating NIU, and beating them decisively. They're in for a long Big 10 season. Brewster needs to come up with 4 or 5 wins on the season and starting point for that is beating NIU in the Metrodome. Suffice to say the Golden Gophers should be unqiuely pumped for this game.
hey at least were ranked in some poll 02-13-banana haha 04-chairshot
I remember listening to NIU knock off Alabama shortly after I decided I was going to attend NIU..... oh how things have changed.
The Illness used to be on this list for a few years until they turned it around. Get to 500 this year, and we will not be on it next year for sure.

Good point.. lot's of good teams have been on that list. Kansas State, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt (they are turning it around), Kansas...

And the Illini haven't turned it around yet... they still have a lot to prove /Ron Zook
Add Wake Forest, Kentucky, South Florida to the mix also

Arelius Benn. He will be a stud. He was hurt most of last year.
South Florida?

Are you kidding me?

They could challenge again for Big East - NO BULLs_ _ _ .

2007 Huskies by comparison had a bad case of pneumonia not terminal cancer. What ailed them were ailments.

I seriously cant look at this board anymore.
If you seriously think NIU is anywhere near the bottom 10, or heck bottom 40 for that matter, that is the TRUE DELUSION. Just please go to niuhuskies.com and check out the roster, its loaded, and that is not being a homer, thats just being objective. All of these pre-season rankings just take last year's record without taking into account 50 percent of the team and 75 percent of all impact players were injured

NIU should be even more juiced for this game than the Gophers, I know players claim they dont look at the pre-season talk and about this complete oversight on just extrapolating last year's record to this year without accounting for nearly a completely new team on the field, but this has to be eating at them. I think NIU will come out very strong in the Metrodome.

Yes, this is no secret.
martez wilson, will davis and vontae davis are slightly bigger studs in my opinion. the illini D is going to be very tough this year.
