This is good news. I was hoping for perhaps a little higher at this point but compared to the previous history, this is a great figure.

How does this compare to previous years? What number are we looking at after corporate ticket sales/
I just bought extra tickets for Miami and Rutgers and in previous years I could always pick up extra seats in my UCats designated section and row.
Well not this year, my section 209 is sold out. The extra tickets were 7 rows up.
yea definately moving in the right direction, I still thought it would be higher though. People just dont realize how electric the atmosphere is at Nippert on saturday nights
I think it really does come down to many people in this area spend their money and time on the pro teams, no matter how bad they are. So they can't justify adding the Bearcats to their budget.

The second factor is people just don't realize how good UC football is now. The fair weather fans in this town will need UC to knock off a really big team (like Oklahoma) and have another season lor two like last year before they "get it".
After corporate sales and ticket packs are rolled in, I bet we push the 20,000 mark before the students and single game tix. Let that sink in a minute.

20,000 per game used to be our attendance average, or close to it. Heck, Miami-OH would kill to average 20,000 per game let alone 20,000 season tickets!
Miami would kill for 15,000 avg.

They better start worrying...

How come this doesn't get more press for Miami?

They really don't have much reason for the poor attendance...they were ranked just a few years ago. It's amazing how far we've progressed past them in such a short period of time.
They were on the NCAA watch list in 2006. BTW, the 15,000 level must be a two year average.

The last 2 year reporting perdiod, Miami only averaged 14,814.

So will the NCAA take any action against them?

I'd be pretty happy if they lost their D-1A status.
It used to be once every three years you had to average it...
Its now a rolling average on 2 year cycles. Last list I saw, there were like 15 teams on the official watch list and half of them were MAC schools.
I think the first time you violate it you get a warning, and then if it goes on for a few more years then you get some kind of sanctions. Geez, no wonder Miami fans and their administration panicked when it was rumored that UC would cancel the game or move it to Nippert or PBS. They need UC BADLY for attendance.
Maybe if their alums cared more about their program than attending o$u games they might not be in this situation.
The MAC has truly become a Big Ten minor league system. They sell their souls for a scheduling arrangement with the Big Ten, and then bowl arrangements with the Big Ten, the Big Ten comes in and takes all of their recruits and then all of their fans. And they have the gall to complain about Cincinnati!? How about Ohio State and the Big Ten, who they seem to bow down to at every turn?

That's the truth.

Single game tickets are on sale now for UCat members. On August 1, single game tickets go on sale to the public. I would call the ticket office and talk to someone as you have the seating chart open on your computer. The website, for non season tickets, gives you option of "best available" and that could be anything.
