okey dokey, so I finally have a weekend off from work, am clearing up some legal issues and did a ton of research today, so I thought this might be of interest in this slow, boring time of year. I put this on the recruiting forum even though it's more related to our team because, well, I just did.

Several reputable sites have published their early 2008-09 preseason basketball team rankings. I chose these four:

ESPN
CBS Sportsline
Rivals
CHN (College Hoops.net) - they are frequently sited in major print and radio and have a great rep with college scouts and NBA folks)

I added each site's rankings, divided by four, and came up with the consensus preseason Top 20. Of course it's subject to change, but I would bet that both the ESPN Coaches and AP Top 25 preseason polls look very similar going into next season.

1. North Carolina - a consensus #1 pick, obviously
2. Louisville
3. Duke
4. Notre Dame
5. Pittsburgh
6. UCLA
7. Connecticut
8. Purdue
9. Michigan St.
10. Memphis (#7 ESPN, #13 CBS, #15 Rivals, #5 CHN)
11. Tennessee
12. Gonzaga
13. Texas
14. Marquette
15. Oklahoma
16. Villanova
17. Arizona St.
18. Miami
19. Georgetown
20. Wisconsin
Notre Dame - I'll believe it when I see it. Nice team yeah, but not a one seed which is what a #4 ranking would imply.

There were rumors on the UNC board of a lockerroom dustup between Lawson & Ellington before the KU final four game. It will be interesting to see if UNC can mesh as a team or will they be like the talented UConn of 2006 team that never fully came together.

That UConn team was awesome and they won me alot of money when they got put out. If it was that big of deal I'm sure one of them would've stayed in the draft, I'm sure it's squashed by now.
I thought this was a recruiting forum?

What are the teams rated for recruiting?

As you may or may not have seen by my disclaimer, I put this here because I believe more "basketball types" gravitate over here.

Perhaps like most other BCS type programs on Scout and Rivals, we should or could have separate sports forums.
Biggest regular season game in all college hoops this year besides Duke & UNC is Memphis & Tenn...I think it's possible that both are top 5 again this year when we meet.

Another example for a private recruiting forum 05-stirthepot

UT will be a top 15 team at best; and only because the $EC is so weak again.

Maybe we should have a private forum for recruiting where nobody discusses recruiting?
