Dear Fellow Alum and Other Friends,

Make plans now to join your University of Toledo Alumni Association for a bus trip to Ann Arbor as we cheer on our UT Rockets when they battle the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday, Oct. 11.

A total of seven busses have been reserved by your Alumni Association to transport our alumni and friends to the game and a fantastic pre-game tailgate which will be held on the tennis courts at the Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club (400 E. Stadium Blvd.), directly across the street from U of M Stadium. Your transportation includes the cost of parking, driver tip, and soft drinks and bottled water. The menu for the tailgate party is; hotdogs, brats, hamburgers, mini sandwiches, chips, pasta salad and variety of sweet treats, soft drinks and water.

Game time has not yet been set, however, it is anticipated that our busses will depart the UT campus approximately 4-5 hours before the scheduled kickoff. The pre-game event will begin 2 ½ hours before kickoff. Please note that it’s possible that game time could be set anytime between now and two weeks prior to the contest! Because the Alumni Association is contractually bound for bus rental, facility rental and catering charges and is running these events at cost, we will unfortunately be unable to provide refunds for any cancellations.

Here are the options that are available for those who already have tickets through the Athletic Department:

- Bus Trip and Pre-Game Event $60 per person

- Pre-Game Event $27 per person

Here is the option for those who need tickets to the game:

- Game Ticket, Bus Trip and Pre-Game Event $120 per person

Bus space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. A total of 350 seats is available. The pre-game event is limited to the first 700 reservations which includes the 350 bus seats. Game tickets will be in The University of Toledo section.

The deadline to make reservations and full payment for the bus trip is July 30. Pre-game event reservations will be accepted until the capacity is reached.

Signing up for the bus trip or the pre-game event is as easy as calling the Alumni Association office at 419.530.2586 or 1.800.235.6766. Registration may also be made on-line at http://www.toledoalumni.org.

See you in Ann Arbor!

Do you know the location of the seats?
It's our understanding that all vistor seats in the Big House are high in the end zone.

Thanks,
Dan Saevig
Please tell me there is a ban on Michigan apparel for this bus trip since this is the UT Alumni Association.01-lauramac2

Seriously? People would shell out hundreds of dollars for a UT sponsored trip and wear OSU gear? I'm a proud UW grad, but the thought never crossed my mind...
Dude, UT fans are notorious for wearing a UT shirt and OSU, Mich or Notre Dame ball cap to games. When UT played at OSU a number of years ago there were OSU apparel wearing fans on the busses. Makes my stomach turn.

A number of yeas ago in our section at the Glass Bowl, I saw one of our UT program sellers wearing an OSU hat and sweatshirt. I emailed the Athletic Dept. with a description of the older gentleman and the section number. I happily recieved a reply that the seller was no longer employed as a program seller. People just don't think or realize what kind of a message that sends. (appologies if that guy is reading this board, I'm sure you found different work?)

Coach Pinkle used to give a speach on the first day of training camp about being a Rocket and from that point forward, no caps, shirts, jackets, for other NCAA schools. UT caps would be removed in doors and you would be running for days if caught wearing a Michigan cap or OSU gear.
There were a lot of people who wore OSU crap. It was disgusting.

There was one guy who was a former UT Student Gov't Vice President who was wearing an OSU jersey. I asked him what he was doing, and he said that he's always been a buckeye fan and always will be.

I just don't get it.

I hate the wanna-bees. Be proud of where you went to school.
I work/have worked with many folks who either graduated or worked at UM/OSU at some point and have a tie to UT now. They have the right to support their team, so no one should be able to take that away or put them down for representing their school or employer/former employer, but they have to be smart about it.

Now that I'm out of school I'm back rooting for the team I've loved since I was little. You don't have to go to a school to like a football team. That's like saying you can't be a Yankees fan if you're from Ohio. Sorry, I won't be removing my MI tattoo on the bus ride to Ann Arbor. See you at the game!

Forgive my skepticism but... sorry, "Post 1" from ambiguous users carry little validity.

So you want to root for a team that loses to non I-A teams and whose star RB gets drafted below the Rockets'...05-stirthepot

All the more reason I hope we smoke UofM in 2008 and then TheOSU in 2009.

That's fine but if you'll be traveling on the UT bus with UT fans and taking advantage of the UT Alumni Association's package, it will be tasteless and highly inappropriate to be decked out in the opponent's apparel. It'd be a fine example of high jackassery.

If you want to root against your own school, I suggest you do so by yourself and with your own means.

When I was at Akron, I took a student bus up to Toledo decked out in UT gear and I didn't regret it. I know some Roo fans were pissed but I didn't care. Still, it ticks me off seeing our alumni supporting other schools. Just doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
