As Wooden points out there is a new updated football roster. Some observations and questions:

First of all good news of sorts, out of the 2008 recruiting class Cory Watman looks to be the only MIA. Don't know what happened. Scott MacLeod is also missing but believe he will enroll as greyshirt similar to Javon Reese and Kuhlman.

From the previous year's recruiting class we lost Brockman who I guess is walking on at Purdue, Goodrum isn't on the roster but I know he's injured and Jeff Brown a WR, Yousiff the TE from Brother Rice and Shawn Knight from Trotwood all went ?

Some vets are also MIA, Selmon had one year of eligiblity left, Korey Jackson did as well, Mike Graham a WR isn't on the team and Dutcher the placekicker isn't. Cory Everson also appears gone maybe he transferred to where his brother is playing. And of course Cozart left the team.

Anybody having updates on these would be appreciated. I agree there is a concern about LBs.
Cowboy, Mcleod will be gray-shirted along with K. Demaster. Someone said in an earlier post that Demaster was going to be gray-shirted and I said he wasnt, I apoligize to whoever that was, they were correct. As for Reese, I dont think he`s a gray-shirt, he participated in Spring ball. Yousiff is still there, dont know why he`s not listed....I`ll find out more today about the others.

What is Brockman thinking??? He could start for 3 more years at a D-1A school while getting a free education and possibly develop into a pro prospect. Instead he decides to transfer to Purdue where he'll walk-on, pay for school, get buried deep on the depth chart, and likely give up any chance of pro FB.

I'm still trying to find the logic in this. It must be that the glory of saying he "played" Big 10 FB is just to strong to resist.
I also notice Zane Gay`s name is gone. EagleAttack may remember better, but I seem to think Korey Jackson was working out with the linebackers during Spring ball.

Brockman was most likely going to be one of the starting DE`s...lets just say this, he left for a very stupid reason that Im sure he`ll end up regretting.
Reese and Khulman are both there....I think Cowboy was just comparing the gray shirt situation with MaCleod to what they did last year.

I think Brockman was the most significant contributor from the class of 07 that has left. That class has had pretty good retention thus far.

Seemed like Korey Jackson was playing LB in spring ball....Not sure though.
I couldn't agree more on Brockman but hey I could say that Charles Allen too he's got great athletic talent but isn't going to make a living doing track but I respect his decision. Lets see start have college paid for and playing the sport you love vs paying your own way and hope the college gives you a scholie. Especially in today's economy. But hey ....
Found out Yousiff should be on roster, was #95 last year I believe and no 95 listed. Selmon just never showed up. I understand Goodrum, J. Brown, K. Jackson and Graham wont be with team because of grades....Koery Jackson did not participate in Spring ball. Forgot to ask about Dutcher and Everson.
dutcher and everson are both gone....dutcher quit and everson wouldn't of been eligible
Thanks for all the info guys, sorry to see some of the players who are academically ineligible. Ultimately the player themselves has to take responsibility. I hope all the ineligible players will work on getting their degrees.
So what is the deal with 2008 signee Cory Watman if anyone knows?

Watman was a non qualifier.
Will be a greyshirt along with DeMaster and McLeod.
I noted that we have one preferred walk on on the roster so far Tyler Cochrane a 6'4 lineman from Columbus OH
Cochrane is listed as a long snapper: http://www.emueagles.com/roster.asp?play...02&sport=8

I just noticed that we look very young and smallish on the DL. Concerns? Thoughts?

The depth will be young for sure. 2 seniors will start, Hunt and Smith with an experienced sophmore in Palsrock, all of whom have bulked up. Slater, Orhman, Reese, Serruto, Seilis and Kuhlman Im sure will be called on to play. Actually not any smaller weight wise than last year and for sure more depth. Not sure whats happening with Riley, I see he is sharing a number with McMahon.
Warrior, just clarification on Watman does this mean he is a prop 48? Thanks.

Cowboy, thats what my thought would be. Looks like Dennis has info about him being a grey-shirt. I know if he enters school in the fall he becomes a prop 48. Seems to me that if you could grey-shirt all your non qualifiers, why not do it? I was only told he was a non qualifier.

I mentioned in this post that Selmon just didnt show up, thats not true. I totally forgot that he chosed not to come back after last season, I remember him being honored along with the other seniors at the football banquet.
Couple other updates.....

Radney Done (maybe no playing time in sight?)
Goodrum Done (injury + grades)
Pollock Done (injury + missing Cali)
