I'll give credit where credit is properly due - Elton wrote a very nice article here. I hope this link works from Cleveland.com

A big catch: Prep hoops star Marshall finds plenty to like in choosing to be a Zip in 2009

"McKeesport, Pa. -- Eastern Michigan's Earl Boykins was too small. Miami's Wally Szczerbiak was too slow. Bowling Green's Antonio Daniels couldn't shoot.
The saying goes "there's a reason he's in the MAC" when talking of any player without superior size, skill or athleticism from his basketball peers around the Mid-American Conference.

Ezekiel "Zeke" Marshall of McKeesport, Pa., is the 37th-best player in the class of 2009, according to the Internet recruiting service rivals.com. He is 7-feet tall and the eighth-ranked center in the nation. He has received scholarship offers from Big East and Atlantic Coast conference programs Pittsburgh, Virginia, and Boston College."
Sounds like a good pickup for the Zips.
Per several sources .. Zeke Marshall did sign a letter of intent today to play for the Zips beginning next fall.

Zips class for 2009 is complete. Zeke takes the only open scholarship.
The big thing for the MAC is to get the West rolling.

If the West starts to compete for NCAA at-large berths combined with continued strong play of the East the MAC could get 2-3 in the NCAAs every year fairly easily.
