USAToday has had a lot of nice articles lately on how poorly the NCAA has done in their enforcement of academic rates among the BCS and non-BCS schools. This statement below sums it up pretty well folks.

"Both opponents in last season's Motor City Bowl, Purdue and Central Michigan, posted football APRs beneath the NCAA's 925 cutoff. Purdue had a 920 but wasn't penalized. Central had a 922 and lost two scholarships."

"The NCAA's heart is in the right place. They want to improve the academic performance of student-athletes," says Nathan Tublitz, a University of Oregon biology professor and co-chairman of the Coalition on Intercollegiate Athletics, an alliance of faculty senates at Division I universities.
