COLUMBUS — It'll be high noon when toe meets football for Ohio State's first three home games this fall.

The Big Ten Network announced today, July 2, that it would telecast the Buckeyes' games at home against Youngstown State on Aug. 30 and Troy on Sept. 20 and that both would start at noon.

ESPN or ESPN2 will carry the Sept. 6 noon game at Ohio Stadium against Ohio.

The Buckeyes are scheduled to play at Southern California on Sept. 13 at 8 p.m. in one of the most highly anticipated games of the season. That game will be shown nationally by ABC.

The only other game times that have been announced are 8 p.m. games on Oct. 4 at Wisconsin and at home against Penn State on Oct. 25.

Nice.....Was expecting Big Ten Network for this game, so this is a very good break for those of us that don't get the BTN. Wonder if re-sale ticket prices dip a bit for this since its on TV. 2 months until this game and still working on how to get paws on tickets. Bobcat fans are willing to pay top dollar for this game. Buckeye fans can make some $$$$ selling us Bobcats their tickets and watch the battle of Ohio on TV.
i already have my ticket. i'm going with a friend of mine from work who is an OSU fanatic. it should be interesting! i bought the shirt they are selling at the College Book Store that says (in green) WE ARE OHIO (on the front) and (in red) YOU ARE STATE (on the back)! 03-lmfao
Here is the 2008 Bobcat TV schedule thus far:

8/30 @Wyoming (The Mtn.)
9/6 @Ohio State (ESPN/ESPN2)
9/20 @Northwestern (Big Ten Network)
10/21 @Temple (ESPN 2)
10/28 Buffalo (ESPN U)
11/28 @Miami (ESPN U)

Not bad to have 6 on TV before the MAC Game of the Week selections are made. Then you also have FSN Ohio broadcasts and the possibility of showing up on FSN Detroit with CMU/WMU on the schedule.

There is a potential to have 10-12 regular season bobcat games televised. That would be a record.
They had us on ABC when we played Ohio State. Most of Ohio State's home games are on ABC.

Most but not all, especially with non-conference games they will play at noon except for USC. ABC doesn't want a 40+ blowout, its not good ratings.

Maybe its because we were coming off another winning season and had Heisman candidate Garrett Wolfe then.
That means then EMU/MSU will be on Big Ten Network. It depends on the channel because of the second tier ACC or Big East game.

I like to think that I helped hype that up so it ended up being created. 03-wink

Incidentally, the Miami-Michigan game is also being listed as ESPN/ESPN2 in the same timeslot on that day.

yeah it looks like it could be a MAC-Big Ten Rivalry Simultaneous Doubleheader! Ohio and Miami (rivals) versus Ohio State and Michigan (rivals), respectively, simultaneously on the ESPN Family of Networks (at least the two biggest ESPN networks).

sounds like a good thing for ESPN to be marketing! 04-rock

Next time, would like to see the same teams playing Big Ten vs. MAC on the same day with the opposite matchup. Me wants to see Ohio make a trip to the Big House.
I have met several friends and family members who attended, played for or taught at Michigan. One of my grandfather's friends had played at Michigan in the 1920's. He scored the first touchdown in the Big House I was told. He told stories about when they played Red Grange and Illinois. Another uncle played basketball for Michigan in the early 1960's just before Oliver Darden and Cazzie Russell were recruited to Michigan and turned the program around back then. My father knew Bill Frehan at Michigan who was later a catcher for the Detroit Tigers. Lets just say their was no way I was gonna attend Ohio State. My family has been long time season ticket holders at Michigan. Ohio vs Michigan would be fun. Bo Schembechler didn't care for Ohio from his days at Miami. Ohio ran up the score on one of his teams and he once said "it will be a cold day in hell before that school wins a championship". The day after Ohio won the MAC East in 2006, Bo passed away.

Nah, too easy.

OUBJ, you will be able to buy tix for FACE the week of the game through HangOnSloopy dot com or directly from the Schott Tix Office. It's always easy to get tix for games prior to the Big Ten schedule, w/ the exception of games against other BCS teams.
NIU-Ohio State was on ABC in 2006 because the Big Ten Network did not exist yet. The Big Ten Network has rights to a certain number of decent games. They are going to get OSU and Michigan as many times as they can get.
Are the t-shirts trademarked? I like the idea for the college I work at and want to use it for the basketball game with our crosstown rival.
